Stylish shoes for walking long distances

I don't drive so do a lot of walking (4+ miles the days I work, and 6+ when on the school runs). Winter is fine, I wear a pair of chunky flat leather boots but am struggling with summer footwear - I can do it in flip flops or ballet flats but wear through them very quickly and will probably end up knackering my feet over time if I continue. So any suggestions for stylish but supportive shoes for walking please?

I have Keen walking shoes, brilliant, most comfortable and supportive shoes I have ever had. Scroll down here and they do "smarter" styles as well as sporty ones.

Not particularly stylish but am v fond of my Converse. I've got a thread about sandals for city schlepping at the moment. You might like something on there (unfortunately I still haven't found anything for me yet!).

Skechers are my go to comfy shoes. I have trainers and go walk shoes and both are great for long walks. I wore my trainers recently on an 8 hour trip round the zoo and my feet didn't hurt at all. They are super light too.

We all have Keens too, not sure I consider them stylish tbh. In fact when I met DH in the US I thought they were quite ugly and it was a couple of years before I got some.

I have three pairs of merrells that are very supportive, walking shoes, boots and not these but very similar

I bought them for a couple of city breaks this winter and didn't feel that I looked too 'comfy'.

I have just replaced my much loved Campers with these, the old ones were four years old.

Six miles is a lot of walking though, could you think about something like proper walking merrell types and leave some ballet flats at work.

Appeals bike run ski - I hadn't looked at Keens lately and now I come to think of it I did have two pairs of nice winter boots that were quite smart that I bought at Sierra Trading Post many moons ago.

I like the red ones! OP if I don't wear decent shoes for walking my lower back really aches.

Proper walking shoes, but if you want sandals I suggest something hard wearing and supportive like Birkenstocks or Fit Flops. They do some stylish ones IMO.

I have Toms for this reason!
Okay, not that stylish, granted, but I bought a pair that lasted over a year, and I wore them for 3/4 of that year. I walk about 4 miles a day on school runs, and then twice a week I do an evening walk with my dsIs which is about 7 miles - wore the Toms then too.
They have such a comfortable sole and wash well in the machine.

I'm watching this as need exactly the same. Back at work tomorrow and genuinely don't know what to wear on my feet! Converse are way too flat for that amount of walking; you'll knacker your joints.

I have keens for work, they are not cheap, but worth it as they last so long and are as comfy and supportive as trainers, but just smart enough.

I had some lovely skechers about ten years ago, but haven't had any luck with their shoes lately, they seem more flimsy.

Dr martens do some nice shoes too.
