... and I am not talking about baking here!

I finally fit back in my smallest pre-pregnancy jeans this am and I was feeling pretty good - but then I looked in the mirror - horrors !!! I am not skinny but I could get away with low rise jeans and they suited my shape - but now - after 2 babies in 2 years I am suffering from jelly belly as well as brain and don't know wether to chuck away the jeans - or invest in supportive girdles? or longer tops or what - do I have to wear high waisted trousers like simon cowell now - I don't know!!!! I am over 30 now do i need a wardrobe review - but which baby do i sell to pay for that?!

Long tops and make a point of never sitting down with said jeans on.

MrsBadger · 03/11/2006 16:02

...and a long vest in a co-ordinating colour peeking out from underneath hides a multitude of sins

suburbanjellybrain · 03/11/2006 16:05

The vest and tops ideas are good - but annoyingly I am quite tall but with a v long body (I look taller sitter down iykwim - wow that sounds freakish) anyway I have a nightmare finding long enough tops - especially now I live so far from civilisation...

do some sit ups?

suburbanjellybrain · 03/11/2006 16:10

at least sitting down isn't a problem as I am currently breastfeeding, typing , doing the washing up and standing on one leg - in the manner of all great multitasking mothers

Tank tops are good for confusing the eye regarding a muffin top issue.

Bibliophile · 03/11/2006 16:12

Wear a dress over the jeans. Solves long top and muffin top problem. Looks nice and makes legs look longer too IMO.

2nervesleft · 03/11/2006 16:12

Oh didn't see your last post - Tank tops are not good for BFers.

suburbanjellybrain · 03/11/2006 16:22

sit-ups?? what are they???

I do lots of heavy lifting and I have good stomach muscles - but I have lost shall we say definition and I don't think it will ever come back...

I wonder if von-furstenburg will do a range for tesco's that would sort me out!

magic pants are about to become your best friend

suburbanjellybrain · 03/11/2006 16:29

do they do pants that start at your armpit and finish at yoour ankle?

OP posts:
guyfawkesHEIFERgy · 03/11/2006 16:49

I saw a pair of magic pants that went from right underneath the boobs down to pants...

I noticed them as I thought that with my saggy boobs it would get very hot and sweaty under there....

Also looked very funny on very skinny manakin (sp?)....

suburbanjellybrain · 03/11/2006 16:51

sound perfick but I have a budget of 50p - maybe I can sell some of my pregnancy clothes.... hmm ebay here I come!

Bibliophile · 03/11/2006 18:46

But you can't wear magic pants with low-rise jeans!! The horror!
You need my new lightweight black jeans from Autograph at M&S which have good shape (really wide flare at the bottom, nicer than they sound!) and crucially, curve over your hip to fit a couple of inches under the bellybutton and completely eliminate muffin top for a mere £35.

nolastar · 03/11/2006 19:16

Yep..sad to say but I too found a great pair in M&S ..fairtrade bootcut£35 but have a slightly higher rise than most..and do hold it all in.

suburbanjellybrain · 04/11/2006 09:04

but i thought bootcut had been banned by the fashion police - though i can't say I complied....
