Bad dye job!

Hi! So, my 'reddish brown' permanent colour has come out purple. I hate it. Not only is it purple but I managed to miss a big patch around the middle so it's purple roots with a brown streak running through it. Can I just add a brown permanent colour on top, or am I going to have to go to a salon to get it sorted out?

You could try colour b4 on it and then dye over it. I've used colour b4 quite a few times and it's really good, it smells horrible and takes an hour but it really does work. If you usually use a red colour on your hair then it will probably stay a reddish colour as the pigmentation can be harder to remove as it stains the cuticle, but should be easily covered depending on what colour you want to achieve afterwards. If you do decide to go this route, then I would use a semi permanent hair colour afterwards and watch it like a hawk as colour takes quicker after the colour before. Hth!

Yes, color b4 will do the trick!

Before you do anything, if you have any Head and shoulders, run loads into your dry hair then rinse - does a great job of stripping colour. I have a friend who used to work for loreL and they used to suggest this for phone advoce

Sorry rub not run!

Thank you - would that be readily available in Boots? Is it super harsh? Stupid question as it's stripping the colour, but I do have pretty sensitive skin. Also can I leave it a day or so before applying the new colour? I can't see myself getting a couple of hours to myself to do it in one go.

I'll definitely go the Head and Shoulders route first.
