Hi I'm hoping someone may be able to give me a bit of skincare advice. I've recently had dc4 and I'm trying to sort myself and my body out now I've finished having babies.
So far I've lost 2 and a half stone (still 2 more to go!) bought some new clothes and just generally started taking a bit better care of myself. However I come unstuck when it comes to skincare I just have no idea what I should be doing. At the moment I do very little and often sleep in my makeup Blush I'm 37 and I've got normal skin with a bit of an oily t-zone. I haven't got and major skin issues and am not that wrinkled yet but I feel I need to do something to brighten up my skin a bit. I don't have a lot of time in the morning (3 kids under 5) but I do have time in the evening.

Does anyone have any ideas? I don't have a huge budget but if there's something people really rave about I don't mind spending a bit. I often hear coconut oil mentioned a lot but unfortunately I'm allergic to it so can't use that. Please help!!

You can start a simple routine that doesnt cost the earth.

Double cleanse with a hot cloth cleanser (basically, slather on a cleanser like Superdrug Vit E, which is brilliant and cheap; remove with a warm muslin or flannel and repeat). You wont need a make up remover if you do this at night, as it melts off make up.

Use a facial oil at night and give yourself a bit of a massage with it (plain almond oil is good, or if you want to spend a bit more, Neals Yard rose facial oil or trilogy rosehip oil are nice), or find a night cream you like.

Use an eye cream.

Start wearing a high spf sunscreen or moisturiser every day.

Hi
I oil cleanse with grape seed oil then just wash my oily t zone with a bar soap. Cheap essentials from waitrose.
Moisturise with grape seed oil and a touch of protect and perfect day cream.
At night occasionally use an acid toner, Vichy normaderm to help clear pores. I use a little grape seed oil every night on cheeks but not oily bits.
I have clear skin. Grape seed oil is cheap from Holland and Barrett !
I reccomend a face illuminator and a concealer plus eyelash curlers. These made the biggest difference to me!

I'd start by removing your make up every night! Use a hot cloth cleanse ( Liz Earle is good or Emma Hardie. I use Eve Lom because it's amazing and the best in my opinion but it's quite pricey and there are cheaper options ) and then a quick tone - I always go back to Liz Earle toner and her eye bright . Clarins gentle exfoliating toner is also good to use a few times a week

I'd then use a serum - Una Brennan facialist stuff is a good cheapish option that a lot of people rate and finally a moisturiser . This is very personal! I use Omorovicza which is amazing but not cheap. I also use Aveeno a few times a week which is also amazing and very cheap.

Ok that sounds doable! Thanks for the tips

So sorry for being really dumb but if I did this would it be ok?

Hot cloth double cleanse before bed and use an oil to moisturise.
In the morning wash face do I need a wash if so any recommendations? Then moisturise I'm using the aldi one at the mo is which seems ok. I've also got some clarins beauty flash balm that I've not really been sure what to do with would that be ok as a serum? Do I put it on after moisturiser?

Also I've never used an eye cream any recommendations?

A friend of mine has amazing skin and takes imedeen (sp?) has anyone ever taken it? Just wondering whether it might help my sleep deprived skin!! I'm eating healthily and drinking lots so maybe that's enough.

Sorry for all the questions before the children I knew things and could make simple decisions Grin

Cetaphil! It's fantasic and I rinse. It off with water. I follow up with lancome visionaire serum as it has a slight iridescence to it so great for perking up the skin!
