Non chemical sunscreen

I have developed an allergy to sunscreens that use a chemical block. I can only use those that use physical blocks such as zinc and titanium dioxides.
I want to use a facial sunscreen everyday but have struggled to find one that is ok under makeup. Most are thick, white and greasy. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I also need sunscreen that I can use on the rest of my body on holiday. Chemical sunscreen brings me out into a horrible red itchy rash. I also get prickly heat. Any physical sunscreen recommendations that won't make me look as if I'm about to swim the channel?

I don't know of any but you should try a health food shop, if they do exist they will have them!

I find piz buin allergy doesn't irritate my skin. Might be worth a try. Cant find a list of ingredients though sorry.

Clinique City Block spf 25 is not chemical. Their SPF 40 might be- you need to check because it used to be but they may have changed the formula. I have used both for 25 years and they are excellent.

The problem is that non chemical is made from titanium dioxide which forms a physical barrier- so you are always going to get this to an extent.

Have you tried Sunsense? (Look for it at John Lewis online.)

My dd is the same Op. terrible prickly heat and rash if she uses most sunscreens.

She started to use Clinique about 4 years ago (I can't remember the name but the assistants will be able to help)

She's never had a problem since Smile

Prickly heat and a rash is caused by your sweat glands no working efficiently and / or sensitivity to UV light.

I often get it at the start of the summer but once my skin gets used to the sun I tan very well(not that I am aiming to.)

Covering up and cool showers do help as well as sunscreens but some creams make it worse as they block the sweat glands.

Apparently preparing the skin by using a tan accelerator can help with prickly heat.

SunSenseâ„¢ Sensitive is a non chemical sunscreen. Just trying to decide between that and the toddler milk for DD.

I'm using John Masters organics physical sunscreen at the moment, really pleased with it, not cheap but goes on nicely and no white face.

Forever living Sunscreen is aloe Vera based factor 30 I think. It lovely and perfect as a primer aswell, they do a spray aswell both water resistant. Kids don't seen to mind them either. Xx

The other thing our dr suggested for DD's prickly heat, (who was 17 at the time and it was runining her holidays) was to take an antihistamine for 2 weeks before going abroad.
