Dermalogica or Origins?

Hi,

I've been using Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream (am) and Intensive Moisture Balance (pm) for years. After trying various ranges and products they have been the best for my skin, which is normal/dry but dehydrated (I do everything like drink lots of water and take omega oils etc). I'm in my mid thirties.

It's been a long time since I have tried anything else so I am tempted by Origins A Perfect World moisturiser and the Make A Difference night cream. I have tried Origins in the past, but the Have A Nice Day and Night A Mins. They didn't do much for my skin to be honest but I don't know if the previously mentioned ones are any better?

I am 8 months pregnant and feel like my skin might need a bit of an extra boost once baby is here. If I stick with the Dermalogica I think I might need some kind of hydrating booster between cleansing and moisturising in the morning (I use EL ANR at night which I'm happy with). Has anyone tried the Origins A Perfect World Treatment Lotion?

I'm happy to stick with the Lancôme cleansers that I have used for years.

And recommendations from other brands are also welcome if they'd suit my skin type.

Thanks for any opinions or advice.

Have a look at Bioderma's Hydrabio range. Hypoallergenic, mildly scented and not-too-spendy. I love Dermologica wash, then follow with Hydrabio Serum and either the light moisturiser (am) and Riche (pm). Haven't tried the cleanser but there is a mask too. I tried Origins, but it was a bit meh, and I've not found the Dermologica moisturisers very effective though the Barrier cream is good on my visible bits of atopic dermatitis. I buy it online, from Escentual, especially when they have a French pharmacy brands promotion several times a year. Me: good genes; nearer 60 than 50, but my wrinkly bits are not as bad as many ladies 10 years younger.

I love Origins, and Dermalogica, but I find Origins nicer to use (texture, smell etc).

Have A Nice Day has been discontinued (sob) some years ago, I used to love it for a light summer moisturiser. Perfect World is much heavier and thicker so probably more what you're after.

But I love Night A Mins so you may disagree. (My skin is combination oily, with occasional dehydration but mostly under control).

I use the Perfect World or Plantscription serums too (currently on PW serum and Plantscription moisturiser, which is another nice thick one). My skin definitely feels better when I use the serum before moisturising.

Thank you both.

cresset, I'll have a look at Bioderma as that's a brand that I haven't tried before.

Lord, I agree that the Origins I tried was nicer to use in terms of scent and texture etc. I think that's partly what's tempting me. I need extra pampering! I didn't dislike what I tried, it just didn't improve my skin. I'm glad I didn't love Have A Nice Day if they've discontinued it! The Night A Mins may have changed as I've noticed it says something about being potent (or something similar) now.

Do you use the serums in the morning or at night? The Perfect World serum before my moisturiser might be what I'm after instead of the treatment lotion.

I'm so indecisive!

The dermalogica actually works out cheaper because I buy the 100ml tubes of moisturiser.

I use the serum in the morning only (oil + moisturiser overnight). I really find it makes a difference...

Thank you Smile
