My hair looks best after I've been cycling

and the cold air has kind of sealed the cuticles (I'm guessing). Otherwise it is frizzy after I blow dry.

So, I've been thinking that maybe I should get a hair dryer that dries with cold air. Does such a thing exist? I know there are "cold blast" ones.

Yes. My hairdryer's cool setting is pretty cold. I'll look later and get back to you.

Is it not the sweat?

If I've been sweating my hair looks nice for a while (then just plain greasy in the evening).

But if it is the cold thing then maybe you could also try washing it in cold water?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 13/04/2015 20:30

Could be the salt in the sweat, so maybe try sea salt spray and see if that has the same effect?

Ha ha - you don't know me. I don't sweat when I cycle :)

It is definitely the cold air. I do rinse my hair in cold water but it doesn't seem to help. On the lookout for a low wattage low temperature hairdryer now. I'll try anything.

Hi OP. It's a babylis 2200w prospeed. It's got 3 heat settings And the lowest is cold. I have just dried my hair using the cold setting and medium thick hair, it took about 8 mins but that was with minimal styling. It also has a freeze blast button for when you style hot then set the style. Hth.

MoustacheofRonSwanson · 14/04/2015 22:33

Sometimes I dry mine entirely on coolshot on my babyliss hairdryer. I have the vintage lace one, but most of their hairdryers have a cool shot. It really works. An italian hairdresser from Florence told me about it, helps hair stay smooth especially in hot and even humid conditions. Totally good for the condition of the hair too, stops it getting dried out by the heat. Need to towel/air dry well first though.

Thank you both very much for the info on Babyliss hairdryers. I'm definitely going to get one with a cold setting - anything is worth trying with my hair.

I can recommend my Babyliss boutique hair dryer too. It's small, really powerful and has the cool setting.

I have a Toni and Guy digital hair dryer which you can choose between hot and cold air and how hard it blasts it, way more options than normal dryers. I love it.

This is getting interesting. I didn't know you could get hairdryers with cool settings. My hairdryers have only had cool shots and not really possible to keep your finger on them all the time when drying.
