Anyone got a tangle teezer?

My DD wants one as she says it will help with her mid length (between bra strap and waist) fine hair. If anyone has one, can they recommend it (or not!)?

I didn't like that there was no handle, I was constantly dropping it or hitting myself in the face! Ha! Much prefer a standard comb or bristle brush

CointreauVersial · 11/04/2015 21:40

I wouldn't be without mine.

I used one for years on the DDs ( long fine straight hair) but grew my own hair longer recently and was really struggling with my old brush, pulling out loads of hair, taking hours to comb through after washing etc, until it dawned on me to borrow their Tangle Teezer. What a difference!

You just have to get used to the "layer by layer" brushing action, rather than pushing the bristles straight to the scalp.

yes go for it, DD has lovely thick curly hair and it's the only thing she will use as it works and doesn't hurt.

Brill brushes
Start at bottom, remove tangles, work up shaft. Perfect for fine hair, even lots and lots of fine hair.
No good with a hairdryer, melts but excellent at brushing out knots before drying.

You shouldn't use a brush with knobbles on the end for straight hair. It breaks the hair.

And get a bristle brush to 'smooth' hair into a pony tail.

There is no one brush... lots of brushes for different jobs Wink

Love mine, I have very fine hairs and it works a treat

I have two - one for home and the handbag one too. Definitely recommend!!

We tried the Tangle Teezer but I didn't think it was great. We now have a Denman Tangle Tamer and it is much better for dd's hair. I got it in Boots.

I recently got a Wet brush. Amazing! Highly recommend.

balletgirlmum · 12/04/2015 10:52

Dd loves hers. She uses gel in her hair everyday & has to wear it in a bun & it's great for getting the knots out.

billywhitechocolate · 12/04/2015 12:24

I bought a pink fake on from HB too. Its brilliant. My DDs hair is down to her coccyx and way too long! But this brush is fab.

I loved my tangle teezers until I got a travel sized Wet Brush in a beauty box. It is miles better than the tangle teezer, my 6 year old dd prefers it too. Like it so much I bought another full sized one.

How funny, I had never heard of them but my hairdresser convinced me to buy one yesterday. At first I was a bit sceptical the brush hurt my skin but we had no tears brushing dc's fine hair today so it's a definite yes from me.

HaplessHousewife · 12/04/2015 13:29

I've also got the Denman tangle tamer, in fact I've got two. I much prefer having a handle.

Works well on DD's almost bottom length fine, straight hair and DS's below ear curly mop.

I've found Boots only tend to have pink ones but you can order a variety straight from Denman.

They are great for fine hair but no good for very thick hair.

qazxc · 12/04/2015 14:21

brilliant on dd's hair (and she uses it as a teething toy, she's 9 months but was born with a full head of hair). mine not so great as it very thick and so doesn't reach all the way through so I have to do 2 layers. But it is more comfortable, less pully than a regular brush.
