Best moisturiser for oily but very sensitive skin?

Currently use a cream from the pharmacy but it is very thick and doesn't help the oily problem but has the benefit of not making my skin burn!!

Problem is my make just seems to slide off after a couple of hours

Have a look at Avene as sensitive skin is their target market, anything oil free.

What about Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturiser instead of foundation?

Or do you need moisturiser at all? (radical I know but we are trained to buy it as the beauty industry wants to sell us product)

Kundry the thought of no moisturiser at all had genuinely not occurred to me!

I will look at Avene. Do tinted moisturisers give good coverage? I fear my skin needs all the coverage it can get!

Have you seen the Lisa Eldridge acne cover up video (am guessing this is your issue seeing as your skin is oily)?

She points out that most people with acne have amazing skin in between the acne so don't need much coverage on most of their skin but high coverage on spots. She performs a miracle with low coverage foundation and Dermablend concealer.

No haven't seen it but will take a look, thank you

I like Clarins Hydraquench, the one for normal-combination skin. I've tried a few of their products & always get a sample before buying to check it works for me. (Some so-called "sensitive" products make my face so red you'd think I'd been slapped.)

Maybe try a serum rather than a full moisturiser? I use La Roche Posay Duo Effaclar and often don't feel I need moisturiser afterwards. It's really soothing on my sensitive skin too.

Cetaphil is a good affordable and derm-friendly range for sensitive skin too Smile

I was always using oily skin creams, that were drying my skin out and actually making the oiliness worse. My skin varies now, generally it's sensitive, but when it also gets oily, I use Dr Hauschka cleansing cream, followed by their Soothing Intensive Treatment and most importantly, Clarifying Day Oil.

It does sound odd at first, to put oil on oliy skin, but it really works.

I use Clinique Moisture Surge gel moisturiser on my oily skin. It's properly hydrating but sinks straight in without feeling greasy, I absolutely love it. My skin is a little bit irritable but not properly sensitive - maybe go to the counter, they might give you a little sample to try?

I also have oily/sensitive skin and I've been using Neutrogena Visibly Clear oil free moisturiser for years now. I try different creams from time to time, but nothing is as good as this. Really suits my skin. Very cheap as well.

I now want all of the products she used!

Try natural oils, I would start with Camellia oil, it is very gentle, so great for irritated skin. Add a drop of lavender and geranium essential oils, they are very calming and balancing. Do not worry about putting oils on your skin, they won't clog up the skin, they only help to balance it, but it is about finding the most suitable one. My other favourites are: Rosehip, Jojoba, Tamanu and Marula.

Try the Green People moisturisers, they have tinted too. Also i've always found the Boots Botanics organic facial oil really good for my oily sensitive skin. The Weleda ranges are great too, the Wild Rose lotion is lovely.

I have the same skin type, I use and love La Roche Posay Hydraphase Legere
