Alternative to .Aussie shampoo?

I have spent the best part of 30 yrs looking for a shampoo to suit my long, fine, static hair that needs washing everyday as it gets greasy.

I love Aussie Mega and I've been using it for about 3 yrs happily, but it's now giving me dandruff. I've recently tried Dr Organics Tea Tree, Rose and Aussie Organics but although lovely, do not clean my hair enough. I think the plant extracts are too heavy for me.

Any recs welcome, especially organic ones with no nasties and no animal testing.

I alternate between Avalon organics tee tree shampoo and conditioner and the body shop rainforest brilliance. I tend only to use conditioner a couple of times a week or my hair gets annoying and flyaway.... The Avalon stuff is great, but I love the smell of tea tree!

I find tea tree too 'stripping'. Just looked on body shop website, their shampoos don't get very good reviews. Which one is it that you use?

What about trying a different Aussie shampoo? The one for coloured hair is fab, with a lovely smell. I use Mega too, it doesn't make my hair greasy, but when I have fine highlights I use the other one.

If you want to splash the cash, Aveda Shampure is gorgeous!

I am lucky enough have really god condition hair that is very fine and prone to greasiness, anything that puts a layer of anything on the hair just weighs it down and adds to the greasiness.

I've tried Aveda and, again, that's too heavy for me.

The coloured hair Aussie conditioner is the only one from that range my fine hair can stand. I have to rinse it off twice though as its gloppy and lingers if not rinsed off properly. I find the other Aussie ones smell too strong, and not clean iykwim.

I use lOccitaine shampoo and conditioners mostly, and Aussie after I've had a colour in.

I'm liking Paul Hill coconut shampoo and conditioner at the mo. Was from either boots or the supermarket... I have similar hair to yours and sometimes use Aussie.

To add - I've always had to wash daily but I can get away with every other day with this shampoo...

Lush solid shampoos?

I find the naked range good. Discontinued apparrently but if you have a savers shop near you they are in there for £1 each

rosiepinkcheeks · 07/04/2015 21:39

Liz earle shampoo is very good. About £8 a bottle. Need the tiniest amount. Lasts ages. No nasties.Good for fine hair.

I like loreal elvive nutrigloss light as it doesn't weigh my hair down and agrees with my scalp. I had the same issue as you with Aussie after a while

beastling · 08/04/2015 16:30

Ooh, sorry- didn't see the response. It's the rainforest brilliance one at body shop. My hair is quite fine but masses of it and curly so I need to be really careful with conditioner.
I will say that if you find tea tree a bit stripping the Avalon may not be for you... They do lots of other flavours too

John Frieda for fine blonde hair.

You sound just like my friend and she swears by the tre semme clarifying shampoo for oily hair and then the tre semme Argan oil conditioner. Not organic but she says it's great

Faith in Nature Shampoo in Chocolate and Urtekram Shampoo in Rose. Both brands do lots of variants so if those ones don't quite suit you there are a few others to try.
