Looking for an eye cream

I'm 31 and although I moisturise daily I don't use a separate eye cream. I'm looking for some recommendations on eye cream please.

I'm starting to get some fine lines under my eyes and when I smile I get crows feet at the side of my eyes (although I don't have any lines there yet when my face is at rest) so I think it's time I paid a little more attention to my eye area.

Skin care bands I really like are: Liz Earl, Neal's yard, Elemis and REN. Looking for something similar to these brands and price range please.

Thanks.

Younique's Uplift Eye Serum has had some good reviews. I turned 30 at the end of last year and have been umming and ahhing about starting to use something myself.

I use their other products (the mascara and eyeshadows, soon to be getting one of their lip stains) which I love so I'm debating whether to take the plunge myself. It's £50 so it is a big investment.

Can I gatecrash your thread please? Grin
I was coming to start a thread asking about Clarins eye restorer-serum- type stuff! Anyone use that? As well as eye cream?

ggirl · 05/04/2015 12:23

hmm don't think any cream will stop developing wrinkles tbh
to keep the area hydrated I recommend vichy eye cream

Eliza22 · 05/04/2015 14:43

I cannot recommend Vichy Liftactiv Serum Cils & Yeux highly enough. Excellent eye serum plus it claims to fortify lashes. This has caused my lashes to lengthen and I've definitely more of them. I have not bought RapidLash since starting with this.

Two votes for Vichy then. It seems reasonably priced too so I think I will give it a go. Pleased to hear it helps with lashes. I have noticed my lashes are thinning these past few years - although they are still nice and long

Make sure you get the Cils et Yeux SERUM. It's about £25.99

Do boots sell that one or do I need to go elsewhere? I would prefer to go into a shop to buy than order online.

Pricey but I really rate caudilie premier cru eye, it lasts forever and is leagues above others I have tried (and that is a lot)

Pumpkinette · 05/04/2015 20:23

Fallenangel - the stuff in your link looks good but it's a bit pricey for me for a brand I've never tried before. I might read up a bit on their stuff first and try it later down the line.

LadyBarlow - gate crash away. No sense having two threads on the go for the same topic. Easter Smile

In a shock move, I've decided to ditch eye cream based on Sali Hughes's advice (beauty writer for The Guardian and author of Pretty Honest). She reckons you don't need a separate one if you don't experience any irritation or puffiness from your moisturiser. Have to say, it's working well so far and I've always used eye creams up until now. But in my former eye cream days, I loved Bobbi Brown's Hydrating Eye Cream.

Eliza22 · 05/04/2015 20:32

I got it from Boots but it's a larger Boots.

FallenAngel84 · 06/04/2015 08:53

No problem Pumpkinette, like I said I've not tried their serum...yet but everything else has wow'd me. What I like is that the majority of their products are naturally based, some gluten free and vegan friendly and not one product is tested on animals (something that drew my attention to them in the first place).

I hope you find one you like :D

Eliza22 · 06/04/2015 10:15

Pumpkinette, you can order online with free delivery (usually next day) to your local high street Boots. I've done this and it works well.

Pumpkinette · 06/04/2015 13:17

Eliza22 I will be heading into town on Thursday so will have a look in boots then (it's a huge boots so they should have it in stock). I get paid tomorrow so wasn't planning on spending until then anyway. I will let you know how I get on with it.

India Knight in her brilliant book "in your prime" also says you should not use eye cream and cites a plastic surgeon who says all it does is lead to a fatty build up under the eyes! Instead she says just make sure your usual moisturiser is rubbed in gently with your ring finger around your eyes

Eliza22 · 06/04/2015 15:45

When I use mine, I use the teensiest amount possible and put it on my lashes only. I think a little then "moves" to the eye area as the day wears on.

RonaldMcDonald · 06/04/2015 15:59

You don't need a separate eye cream if you use good ff products...
