Preventing itchy regrowth

Hair. Coarse leg hair, to be precise. Every method of removal results in itchy, quite painful, regrowth. Tips that have already been tried (and failed):

  • putting conditioner on my legs in the shower to soften the hairs coming through
  • aloe vera
  • waxing or Veet (EVERY removal method results in itchy hell)

To put this in context, the itchiness and resulting rash is so bad that I actually only take the hair of my upper leg now if I know they're going to be on show. Summer is coming...

Any other suggestions, please? Will love you forever if you can give me a cure!

PS oddly enough, my bikini line doesn't suffer with this at all, just my upper legs (especially backs of thighs). Weird.

Have you tried something like this? m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?unCountry=uk&path=/en/Skin-Doctors-Ingrow-Go-Lotion-120ml_14578/

I got laser treatment done which dramatically reduced coarseness from first treatment.
Obv it's meant to give "permanent" hair removal, and I have that in patches, but the remaining hair is now v fine. Another course of treatment would prob kill off rest, but I don't have the ££ right now :(

If you google Tendskin, you should find a really good product that helps. There are homemade recipes online, but I'm not sure they are as effective.

I have this, mostly on my bikini line. Well, halfway down my inner thighs. Looks like I have a terrible STD of some kind.

Have you tried just using a Ladyshave? I know it doesn't give a close shave, but it does the job cosmetically. Half the problem is the quest for a close shave, which creates the possibility of ingrown hairs.

I think the key is exfoliating before and after hair removal. I like those scratchy gloves you can get.

Use a sensitive skin mans razor. And re-use it repeatedly til it totally blunts.

Thanks all. Going to try a double blade razor. As Bit says, sounds like issues are caused by going too close.

This the whole reason I paid for laser.
