What do I need to know/ask? It's for my lower legs and they'll do a small patch test, should I shave? Or will they want to check the colour of the hair? I'm fair-skinned/dark-haired so not anticipating any problems.
What should I check to make sure they know what they're doing, too? It's a sk:n clinic at a hospital so I'm not too worried, but have seen the laser burns adverts in the back of magazines! Anyone had any experience?

Hi,
I have had chin hair treated at skIn. I think they asked me to shave beforehand, but as it's just for the patch test I can't imagine it will be a problem if you haven't. It smarts a little bit, but not badly, for the patch test you'd be a bit unlucky if you got laser burns.

I haven't checked their credentials but on the basis that they are expensive ( and take Tesco vouchers) I assume they are suitably qualified.

You need stubble so don't shave.
A couple of days growth.

They just check the levels of laser required to zap your hair. So they start low and go higher, the machine seems to give them some sort of feedback which they take note of.

Dont moisturise in morning.

It hurts on your knees and ankles. And down shins. But only momentarily.

Make sure you ask them to do your big toes too as part of your lower leg treatment!!

Is it definitely laser, not IPL?

I have had both - the results from laser lasted for years , and only recently started to regrow. I went for a course of IPL last year to get rid of that re-growth, and it was rubbish. Made barely any difference. So am now undergoing a short course of laser elsewhere.

But I was always told to shave the day before - but two days would be fine. Might prickle a little, but shouldn't be really painful.

Yes, pretty sure it's laser. How many sessions did you have nochoc?
