Can you suggest a suitable perfume pls

I've started a new job which involves travelling in a car with other people quite early in the morning. I need a perfume that smells fresh and light and unobtrusive. I like flowery, or musky perfumes. I used to enjoy Paul Smith Rose but find it gives me a headache now. I also quite like the Bodyshop White musk.
Can you help with any suggestions for something suitable. Oh, and only able to pop into Boots ??
Thanks in advance

Tommy Hilfiger's Tommy Girl? Fresh and not too in your face, and seemingly on endless special offer in boots.

Hugo Boss Ma Vie
Calvin Klein Eternity Moment

stillstanding51 · 28/03/2015 15:28

Funnily enough, I used to wear Eternity Moment and quite liked it until someone commented on 'that alwful perfume! Smells like cheap air freshener ! Sort of put me off Wink. I've tried the boss one and it's pleasant enough but smells to powdery to me. Ideally, I'd like something that isn't obviously perfume... If that makes senseConfused

Marc Jacobs' Daisy?
Chloe - think that's also it's name

cardoon · 28/03/2015 15:33

DO NOT wear musk in a cooped up car situation.......the other passengers will hate you Grin

Onynx · 28/03/2015 15:35

Ralph Lauren Romance?

stillstanding51 · 28/03/2015 15:39

Grin. Even something like WhiteMusk? I always thought that smelt quite light and was rather harmless Confused

Shalimar Parfum Initial? Much softer than original Shalimar, sort of lemony.

PunkrockerGirl · 28/03/2015 15:40

Another one for Marc Jacobs Daisy.

LondonRocks · 28/03/2015 15:47

I hate musk (no offence) so something musk-free. It's quite a marmite smell and your colleagues may not all appreciate it!

I like Annick Goutal fragrances.

stillstanding51 · 28/03/2015 15:58

Would this be the regular Daisy?Smile

Love AG london

I wear the dvf perfume Diane for work. I actually prefer the eau de toilette, it's a woody floral musk but very light and grown up. I get it very cheap in tkmaxx and on amazon.

PeachandBlack · 28/03/2015 17:40

I used to wear Paul Smith Rose and now wear a lighter version of J'Adore.

BarbieBrightSide · 28/03/2015 17:45

Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana? (Or the Aldi equivalent Light Silver which smells almost identical but doesn't last as long

Marcipex · 28/03/2015 17:50

Couldn't you useyour perfume after the car journey?

XiCi · 28/03/2015 18:24

I agree with Marcipex. Perfume can be overwhelming and a bit sickening when in a confined space like a car. I would wait until after the journey to put my perfume on, just so the other passengers weren't overcome by fumes Smile

I tried a quick spritz of Daisy today and have to say not overly impressed Hmm. and after a Google it seems to be one of the most popular scents about at the mo. Also tried La Coste Femme, which to me, smelt a little bit like Daisy...Confused.

Anyhow, think I'm going to persevere which the Paul Smith Rose, I've retried it and remember now why I love it so much Grin

My day would be ruined if I had to share car in the morning with someone with a really heavy perfume as it triggers migraines for me. My mum used to put Clinique Aromatics Elixir or Guerlain Shalimar on in the car when I was a kid - it was absolutely awful. It's been 20 years and my dad still enforces a 'no applying perfume in the car' rule :D

If you want to wear the perfumes you really like, then apply it when you get to work. You can even decant into a little purse spray like the Travalo ones. When going back in the car again, the perfume might have settled down a bit.

I really like Jil Sander Pure. I think it smells of laundry that has been drying outside in the sun. It smells of flowers and fresh air. Apparently it's also musky - I don't really smell it though, and it doesn't remind me of TBS White Musk.

Maybe one of the Clean scents would work.

The new Issey Miyake L'eau d'Issey City Blossom might also be nice - I haven't tried it but it's supposed to be floral and musky. The other l'eau d'Issey could also work for you.
The new Pleats Please in Bloom is also supposed to have the same notes - floral, musky, rose, so maybe that would work too. I haven't smelled this one either yet, but I do like the original Pleats Please

It's not really what you're looking for, but you might like the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria range. Some of them are very heavy, but others are very nice. I absolutely love Limon Verde - it starts off smelling like freshly cut lime, then gets a bit sweeter during the day, but it doesn't get sickly sweet. It's a lovely summer perfume IMO.

I'm not sure they're all sold in Boots.

GingerLDN · 30/03/2015 23:58

Calvin Klein Beauty and Versace Light Crystal

Petitgrain · 31/03/2015 00:09

Clarins Eau Dynamisante.

stillstanding51 · 31/03/2015 15:26

Actually went back and bought the Lacoste femme, as the day wore on it developed into a gorgeous sort of non perfume perfume Confused
It mightn't be what I was originally was looking for, but think it's going to become a favourite anyway Grin

Fresh Citron de Vigne or Fresh Hesperides ...Fresh Life is nice, it smells 'fresh out of the shower' iykwim

They have a store in London if you Google. Chalar (manager, male) is excellent, also Amy or Nde (not sure of spelling, pronounced Nday, I think)
Both beautiful, light sea-breeze-y, sparkly scents.

fresh.com (US site) gives descriptions and reviews.
