My eyes water. All the time. Help me find a mascara

That won't smudge! I'm so sick of looking like I have black bags under my eyes. I've tried expensive and cheap.nothing works.
I have really sensitive eyes, but my right eye waters whenever I go outside...or laugh...or anything!
Incredibly annoying, but nothing I can do.
So please, any recommendations for hard-core-stay-put mascara?

I have watery eyes and I use the Boots Natural Collection waterproof. It's the only mascara I have ever tried that doesn't run on me

Are you sure you're not allergic to something in your eye make up? I had this with any Mac eyeshadow that had pink pigment in, took me ages to work it out and Mac did admit they knew the pink pigment did this to some people....

Boots no7 in the gold tube - it's apparently called a "tube" mascara because your lashes are coated like they are enclosed. I have been known to stick myself in the eye with the mascara wand and it hasn't budged even when my eyes were streaming!

If your eyes water it can be because they are too dry Confused eyedrops can help.

AngryBeaver · 26/03/2015 22:39

Thanks very much everyone. I live in nz, but I'll get my mum to pop into boots and get me one of those!
(God I miss Boots Hmm)
And thank you cocolepew.
I will try the drops. Do you have a similar problem?
I must say it drives me nuts. I think it's because I have herpes of the eye.
Just in my right eye.
When I get run down it flares up. It was very bad when I was a teenager and I think this is the problem.
But, I will try the drops, anything that may help! (The eye specialist suggested surgery, no thanks!)

You could try a dye kit - not quite the same but if you are fair it could make a difference.

Cocolepew · 26/03/2015 22:50

Yes I do, I was walking the dog today in the wind. I had my sunglasses on but still looked like Alice Cooper by the time I can home.

chiliplant · 26/03/2015 22:50

Can you get herpes of the eye? I'm a bit worried as I get this!
You try not to itch it but....

PrimalLass · 26/03/2015 23:25

I just have to take a Benadryl if I want to wear mascara. It's very annoying.

AngryBeaver · 27/03/2015 03:53

Thanks rocket, tinting doesn't make enough difference for me to justify the faff!
I do tint my eyebrows, though.

Yes, herpes of the eye is a thing! (Unfortunately) I get lots of jokes about how this may have been transmitted Wink Shock

It's really horrible though, it's quite severe and at the first signs I have to get an emergency appointment and get cream and antibiotics. If the ulcers get under the lid and into the eye, it can cause blindness.
Also, it makes you feel pretty rubbish. And not very pretty!

Still, there are worse things people have to deal with, eh.

Have you tried Clinique High Impact curling mascara? Is a tubing formulation ( and a Sali Hughes recommendation) - recently changed and love it. My watery eyes are now panda-free after years! And easy to remove when you choose, with warm water.

MildredDreadful · 05/04/2015 15:44

I have dry eyes and it makes them water horribly....Dr said because the tears are too runny and so don't stick on your eyeball but run down your face! Then your eyes themselves are dry and gritty. It was so bad that the optician sent me to hospital....Dr there said use Optive drops or Hydromellose (?) or similar, but def. NOT Optrex (can't remember why).

It's taken a few weeks to get better (use the drops as much as you can, even every half an hour) and I'm hoping to e back on mascara soon!

Good luck.

MildredDreadful · 05/04/2015 15:45

Both those drops can be bought OTC or off Amazon or similar. Or try the Theratears brand, but it's pricey.

Cocolepew · 05/04/2015 16:28

Boots do their own Hypermellose drops, they are what I use.

Lovethebubbles · 05/04/2015 16:39

Blinc tubing mascara. I've been a convert since the beautician used it on my wedding day. Should be perfect for your eye watering situation.
