Which foundations don't flashback in photos causing a much lighter face than neck??

I think it's the ones with sunscreen that you need to avoid.

TheCraicDealer · 20/03/2015 15:52

Yeah, you need something without SPF. NARS sheer glow is good; so many manufacturers are putting it in as standard now. Good for anti-ageing but not for pics.

Celticlassie · 20/03/2015 15:55

I was told by a make up lady that Dior Skin Forever doesn't, but EL Doublewear does.

Cariad007 · 20/03/2015 15:59

Yep, avoid ones with sunscreen and those ones that claim to have light-reflecting particles to make your skin "glow". You will glow, but it won't look good in photos!

baxterstockman · 20/03/2015 16:13

Yes avoid SPF. Was told this recently by a make up artist before an event. She used a Clinique one on me which was an all in one foundation and concealer. It was great but I can't recall the name...sorry! Am sure Clinique counter would know straight away!

MAC Face & Body foundation. Sheer coverage but you can build it up. I always wear it when out for the evening. You also need to avoid anything 'light reflecting' (like Touche Eclat), high SPF and some HD powders can make you look like you've been sniffing white powder Wink (think it's silica that causes that)

CointreauVersial · 20/03/2015 16:42

What Cariad said. It's the "illuminating" foundation and powders which reflect light.

Cariad007 · 20/03/2015 16:56

Be especially careful with light-reflecting concealer. Nobody wants reverse panda eyes!

yazzy85 · 20/03/2015 20:22

Oh thanka for all the replies. The spf explains why my studio fix and double wear cause the typical ghost face in photos. Any that are particularly good without spf?

the MAC face & body or NARS sheer glow are both SPF free

Enjoyingtheattention · 21/03/2015 21:06

Does anyone know if wearing an SPF moisturiser underneath non SPF foundation will still cause flashback? All my makeup and moisturisers are SPF or light reflecting...

coffeenut · 22/03/2015 11:12

I have experienced pretty bad flashback with NARS sheerglow. I actually think it is more to do with light reflecting properties than SPF (although I think re SPF it is the zinc or titanium oxide sunscreens that are the worst). I have yet to find one that does not flashback at all, although I find that it is minimal with Lancome teint Idole Ultra and the Armani ones. Be careful also of the powder you put on top - many of these are illuminating or have light-reflecting properties.

How does the diorskin star foundation photograph? Its supposed to be the 'selfie' foundation. It has high spf though!

I just bought Diorskin Star today and the saleswoman assured me it won't wash you out. It does have SPF 30 but she said it's a 'studio' foundation so will photograph well.
