How smartly should I dress for work experience in a school?

Hi, all! I'm due to undertake some work experience in three schools during the summer term (May-June). Two are secondary schools where I will be observing all year groups, and the other is a primary school where I will be observing Year 5.

I'll need to wear fairly cool and non-delicate clothing, but still look smart and abide by the "can't see up it, down it, or through it" rule.

For my top half, I have plenty of white blouses and two really nice linen blazers (one brown, one charcoal). So far, so good.

However, I'm not sure about trousers. I have two pairs of high-rise, wide leg trousers made of chambray (one navy, one grey). Other people have remarked that they look very smart, but I'm conscious that the fabric might be mistaken for denim even though the style is not remotely "jeans-like".

I have two pairs of very nice palazzo trousers (one burgundy, one navy) which I could wear instead, but I'd prefer not to if possible because they're less robust, more prone to creasing and flapping about, and also could potentially be a bit risky when going up flights of stairs at the same time as hundreds of students.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts on the above, and also any recommendations of where to buy comfortable (i.e. reasonably low) block heeled shoes for wearing to school, please Smile.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
