I need help evolving my work wardrobe. I want to look grown up and elegant but not frumpy. It is not a suit kind of place.

I am tall, and a size 8-10.

What sort of thing could I try?

Slim ankle length trousers and a silk tshirt? Pencil skirt and silk blouse? You can probably make most things look elegant if you're tall and slim.

Yep I agree if you are tall you can look really elegant in separates Howabout dresses? Shirt dresses are good, shift dresses also good. I use these a lot, in the summer with a sandal and then winter opaque tights and boots. I also like to team a dress with am online cardigan if you don't have to be so formal and wear a jacket. Scarves are good too but not too bulky otherwise it can look too casual. Hope that helps.

I meant a line cardigan!!

If you're tall and slim you can probably wear anything!

A classic shift work dress will look nice, add a suit jacket or blazer

A leather skirt and silk blouse

A pair of cigarette pants, shirt and jumper

I'm tall, size 10. Depending on formality I do ponte/ heavy jersey dresses, shift dress with really nice cardi (fitted, fine knit), 7/8 slim trousers with a chiffon shirt, or pencil skirt and shirt.

Cigarette pants and silk shirts alongside a flattering and oh so comfy wrap dresses are my go to

I would opt for casual blazers. Then you can have casual tops or a nice dresss with statement necklaces.

whodrankmycoffee · 19/03/2015 14:50

Yes workwearedit is good for suggesting a variety of UK specific shops.

I wear cardigans at the moment, but am conscious it doesn't make me look very grown up.

I like the workwear edit site, thank you for the recommendation.
