I Need a COMPLETE Makeover

Where on earth do I start?

I am 32, 1 DS. Lost 3 stone after I had him but no money to buy any more clothes so I'm walking around in clothes hanging off me. I no longer even own foundation as DS through mine across the room and smashed it. I've not visited a hairdresser since 2010 - I just sort of hack bits off when it gets too long. It tries to be curly but doesn't do a very good job so it just sort of looks fluffy.

I need to learn how to accesorize - I wear no jewellry aside from my wedding and engagement rings.

Come on, lovely MNers - sort me out!!

Weeeell!

Do have a any money for new stuff. If so what's the budget?

Congratulations on the weight loss! That's amazing!

Capsule wardrobe, things that mix and match-

3 bottoms, 1 denim
4 casual tops, 2 dressy
One dress for day, one for eve
Ankle boots
Flats- vans/loafers/ballet flats/converse/Nike etc
Heel/wedge
Canva shopper
Nice leather bag
3 chunky necklaces
Couple ofight weight scarves
Casual denim jacket
Soft blazer

Start looking in charity shops for cheap and cheerful jewellery , scarves
Etc.

Budget - erm.... no! I do, however, have a birthday coming up so can I ask for things / vouchers for that.

I also have a huge stash of fabric and am reasonably handy with a sewing machine.

I should have said in my OP that I have some problems with my feet and have to wear chunky insoles to mould them properly, which means I struggle with shoes. The insoles don't fit in ballet style pumps and don't work at all in heels sadly. I can get away with not wearing them for a few hours though, so long as I'm not walking much (so fine for my desk job as I only do half days).

Scarves! Everybody in my office is wearing scarves at the moment. I really want one or ten

Your colouring? Hair/skin/eyes? What size are you now? How tall? Need to build a bit of a picture.

Have you seen anything you like the look of? Any pictures or celebrities?

Congratulations on the fab weightloss.

Do you have a local college that does hairdressing? Go and have a trim there. Lots cheaper than a hairdresser and they are well supervised so won't be a nightmare. If they do beauty too you could have a facial or manicure too? Do you do your nails, shave your legs etc? Those things make a big difference to me. No one else knows but I feel that little bit better about myself if I've shaved my legs and moisturised.

Neena

mousy brown hair with grey highlights
mid-tone skin, nothing particularly special. Quite shiney unfortunately
Green eyes
5'7" tall
Size 14, boobs unknown due to still breastfeeding! pear shaped rather than apple.

If I'm feeling a bit brave I'll post a pic later!

I like dresses and skirts, though my knees are quite nobbly so tend to try and hide them! Around the house I live in jeans and sweatshirts which is OK, but I'd like something nicer for going out / at work.

My current wardrobe was largely bought when I first started working in an office over 10 years ago, and suited me when I was 20, single etc. I'm now in my 30s, married and a mum and my wardrobe is just too young looking. I need to grow up a bit!

Thanks for the compliments re: weightloss - sadly it was mostly down to having a non-sleeping velcro baby and never having time to eat! I'm glad I've managed to keep it off since though as I needed to shift the weight.

Sorry Neena cross post. Brilliant idea about college students - I'll find out. It can't be worse than me doing it!

I shave my legs as I take DS swimming once a week so feel it needs to be done! Love painting my nails - never seem to find time but it gives me a little lift. Once upon a time I would even do french manicures and the like. Oh the life I led pre-DC!

Find a hairdresser that comes to you, relatively cheap, less hanging around plus she'll probably do DS as well.
