Do I need an eye product?

I'm 42 with a few wrinkles & lines but not many, I never expose my skin to the sun as I burn incredibly easily so I'm very pale.
My skin is dry, probably dehydrated and tends to go a bit blotchy at times. It gets very flaky which I'm trying to sort.
At the moment I use the Superdrug vit E hot cloth cleanser plus a Bioderma Micellar water (does that count as double cleansing?) then I use the FAB facial radiance pads and then La Roche Posay intense riche hydraphase moisturiser for day and LRP nutritic intense riche night cream every night with rosehip oil twice a week or so.
I also use Korres wild rose peeling mask once a week.
This regime is fairly new, I've been doing it for a couple of months & my skin is really responding well, far less flaky & blotchy and just looks more 'balanced'
But I'm aware that I don't use a specific eye product. The day moisturizer actually says to not use around the eye although I just tend to slap it all over my face.
So do I need an eye cream? Day or night? Both?
I don't have wrinkles as such but my eyelids are getting a bit 'baggy' and crepey.
Any recommendations?

You don't absolutely need a separate eye product if you are happy with using your moisturiser around your eyes, that's all an eye cream is, moisturiser! The cream you're using may advise not using around eye area because it may sting your eyes if you get some in it.

If you do want a separate eye cream, for crepiness I would suggest Avene Ystheal eye cream which has a form of retinol in which will help firm your skin.

Thank you Naice. Does that one dry your skin though? I'm sure I used a Roc eye cream with retinol once & it dried my skin out really badly.

Caroline Hirons says yes. Sadly, the one she raves about is the Estee Lauder one which costs £70 Shock
Can I hijack and ask what you think about the LRP ? I am about the same age and have been wondering which to try!

Germgirl · 17/03/2015 11:49

I love the 2 LRP products I'm using. Have to say I hadn't even heard of them before I read mn. I got them at 25% off in my local Lloyds pharmacy.
The day moisturizer is particularly nice, it's made a big difference to my horrible rough skin. It's all silky now.
Seventy quid for an eye cream?!! I'm not paying that! :)
I shall see if LRP do one. After all, the other stuff seems to work for me. I'd definitely recommend you try it.

Oooh, thanks!

Naicecuppatea · 17/03/2015 12:20

Germ, no I don't find it drying but often with retinol creams you need to ease in slowly with them.

Naicecuppatea · 17/03/2015 12:20

Yes go for an LRP eye cream, I am sure they do a good one with vitamin c, Redermic C?

Ruthy Crilly (A Model Recommends) said the Olay Eye Swirl is good. Still not cheap at £24.99 but better than £70!!

*Ruth, not Ruthy!!

Thank you. I'll have a look at reviews etc.
