Probably dim question about shoes

Because of the 'holes' in the sides, would you wear www.clarks.co.uk/p/20357667 these with socks/tights or with bare feet only? I like them, but am not sure how practical they'd be; I don't think I'd like to wear them with tights as I find tights with leather shoes a bit 'slidy' and uncomfortable. But I don't know if socks would look frumpy.

Help! [brogues virgin]

A lady in my office used to wear these with bright socks like yellows, forest greens, red etc. I liked it! Rather funky and a little bit 'Islington' (sorry if you're not a Londoner but thats a good thingGrin). Worn with something like this shirt and trousers? www.lauraashley.com/uk/invt/ts348

I am a Londoner but am not sure the 'Islington' look is for me, although I don't mind it!

I was actually looking at the paler colour, although I know I linked to the dark ones. Does that make a difference to sock/tight/bare feet options?

I just get the Laura Ashley home page from your link ...

I don't think so. They're quite a versatile shoe really. As long as you do bare foot later in the spring when its a bit warmer!

The link should have shown a striped boat neck jumper with a pair of dark blue straight leg trousersHmm stupid link.

So dark socks (with the paler brown or yellow ones) would be OK if I don't want to go the full Islington and contrast. Smile

Thank you!

I have no idea...but just wanted to say I worked in Islington for ages Grin

Grin

Islington these days is all about chain Mexican restaurants and Euphorium Bakery, as far as I can see. Good charity shops though.
