Anyone just want to talk about lovely children's clothes with me?

I'm boring DH so much with 'oh my god have you seen the Boden catalogue' 'Zara has the sweetest things' etc.

I have a boy and a girl. Just bought a great Boden shaggy lined hoodie for the boy for £14 from their clearance section.

My girl is a baby and keep looking at Zara, want to get her a denim pinafore dress from there.

What have you seen that's lovely?

I'm expecting a baby girl imminently so I can't get enough baby clothes chat! Grin

This dress is beautiful, have seen in flesh and I'm sitting on my hands trying not to order it.

And a pink stripey dress that I quite want for myself too.

Forendata · 15/03/2015 08:55

My god I love a stripe.

I just bought this dress from Boden, similar yo that Marks one.

When I was pregant with DD my friends at work and I did literally nothing but trawl through baby gap sending each other little play suits and cardis squealing embarrassingly. I'm not usually that type of person at all. I don't know how this brings it out in me!

Love Mothercare's Little Bird range. Just bought this for DD2.

peppapigonaloop · 15/03/2015 09:07

Love mini boden they have some really sweet things, and wash so well..
One dress related note of caution- don't bother buying until they can walk! The faff of tights etc when they are tiny is a pain and little babies always look so uncomfy in dresses..and once they start trying to crawl they just get in the way!

Forendata · 15/03/2015 09:25

Oh yea agree about tiny babies in dresses. But disagree about tights, my DD lives in tights and cardis. I find them to be by far the most practical. She's just started standing so think by summer she'll be walking and the dress will be good.

Had no idea mothercare had such lovely stuff!

Do you ladies know about Toby Tiger?

Forendata · 15/03/2015 09:36

Oh yes I used to yearn after Toby tiger when DSL was young.

Frugi, kite and Toby tiger are my faves

InQuiteAPickle · 15/03/2015 09:47

I still love Next for Children's clothes. DD2 chose this for her birthday. It's so pretty in RL. Smile

Forendata · 15/03/2015 09:53

Agree about Next used to get lots of DSL stuff from there. Weird mix of great stuff and hideous 'lil princess' type stuff.

It's odd isn't it forendata? I think they are trying to cater for all markets, that's all. Great for school uniform though.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 15/03/2015 10:44

Oh some lovely things on the Toby Tiger site!

I'm sticking my fingers in my ears and singing tra la la at anyone who says dresses are impractical for little babies knowing you're right

I love the Little Bird stuff - this little suit is so cute.

MonstrousRatbag · 15/03/2015 10:48

A few months ago I desperately wanted to get DS this jacket but I couldn't justify spending the money. Of course now it's reduced they haven't got his size. I did buy him the matching waistcoat though.

He's 6 and loves a bit of formal dressing. DS even said he wanted a tie collection, so everyone in the family gave him a tie. He looks like the world's smallest hedgefunder. My late father would be so tickled-he really believed in being smartly turned out, and DS models himself on him!

I think John Lewis does fantastic boys' clothes.

Cawanaka · 18/03/2015 08:32

Anyone seen any nice spring jackets for baby girls?

m.zara.com/uk/en/kids/baby-girl-%283-months-3-years%29/jackets/peaked-hood-raincoat-c358107p2368146.html

Quite like this one but pink not usually my bag.

silversixpence · 18/03/2015 09:55

I love classic clothes in bright colours so end up buying mostly Boden some Zara and some things from Next (you have to look hard sometimes!). I also like Mini a ture for great quality beautiful clothes, they are sometimes discounted on Zulily.

MonstrousRatbag · 18/03/2015 13:20

Cawanaka I quite like this blue floral one from Boots. Sizes from 6 months to 6 years.

John Lewis has a nice selection too but they cost quite a bit more.

Sunbeam18 · 18/03/2015 13:44

Little Titans do gorgeous tights for baby boys Grin

itsnothingoriginal · 18/03/2015 15:08

Vertbaudet have lovely things this season. I've bought quite a lot with the deals they do - especially when it's free delivery. Their girls clothes are good for skinny girls as I get fed up with the lack of adjustable waists in some shops.

Quite sad that Boots don't cater for older girls as I did get a lot from there. Now dd is 7 we're more restricted for ranges and quite a few retailers (I'm looking at you M & S!) assume you want to dress your girls like teenagers from age 7 onwards
