I know it's been done but can you share your recommendations for eyeshadows?

I really want to find a decent eyeshadow that looks good on and stays put for at least most of the day. Can anyone give me some ideas?

W7 on amazon
The toasted pallete is a dupe of the Naked palette by urban decay.

It stays on all day and costs about a fiver for about 10 colours.

MrsBertMacklin · 14/03/2015 09:24

What kind of look do you want to achieve? Smoky, nude, etc? is there anyone whose eye makeup you like?

Dumpylump · 14/03/2015 09:28

I think that actually, if you use a decent eyeshadow primer, then you can use any powder eyeshadow (I don't know about cream ones because I don't use them), and it will stay put. I use an Urban Decay one.
For shadows, I have the Naked 2 and 3 palettes, also by Urban Decay.....I don't need any more eyeshadow!

Thanks for all the replies! I'm looking for a pretty natural daytime look for work. I have looked at the urban decay and wondered if they were worth the money. Will look for a good primer too.

MUA in bronze is my favorite everday eyeshadow, and an absolute steal at £1. It beats my expensive eyeshadows by a mile Smile

KissyBoo · 14/03/2015 12:29

MAC is brilliant. You only need two pots really- one for the lid and a mid tone for the socket line. I use Brule and Satin Taupe. They blend beautifully, stay true to colour and last.

Bobbi Brown in 'Bone'.

It's a light, light neutral that just makes me look awake.

Look on Charlotte Tilbury. She does shadow pencils that flatter your eye colour - I love them. The lids are crap though and come off, but the colours are lovely.

MrsBertMacklin · 14/03/2015 12:46

Definitely MUA - I have Undressed which I think is their dupe of UD Naked and they're really good.

Apatite1 · 14/03/2015 13:17

I use edward bess primer, then burberry eyeshadow. I wear make up rarely so I don't buy very much and cost is not an issue, but this combination always works for me.

littledolly2 · 14/03/2015 13:59

Thanks everyone for your replies. I did use the MUA palette a while ago so might dig it out again as its so cheap! I also saw the W7 one in my local chemist this morning for £5, so grabbed it to give it a try. I think the primer is the thing for me so will invest in it. I really like the look of the MAC ones too so might put in a request for some vouchers for my birthday!!
Thanks all Grin

The Urban Decay Naked palettes are brilliant - well worth the money.

CointreauVersial · 14/03/2015 15:40

Urban Decay Naked palettes really do live up to the hype. Fabulous shades and texture.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 14/03/2015 16:09

I agree with Dumpylump re UD primer. I also recommend Elizabeth Arden primer.

I have the UD Naked 3 palette. It's ok, although some of the shadows are a bit too sparkly/ glittery.

I recommend Mac and Laura Mercier eyeshadow

PastPerfect · 14/03/2015 16:27

Just bought a no 7 eye shadow pencil - stay perfect shade and define. It's amazing. No creasing, stays all day.

After years of buying super expensive makeup I'm seriously rating no 7 at the moment

PurpleDaisies · 14/03/2015 16:33

Another Bobbi brown fan here. Stay put for hours even without primer. The new formula Chanel quads are excellent too (although you aren't supposed to use them wet).

ScienceRocks · 14/03/2015 16:36

Rimmel shadow pencils are great. Stay put, lovely colours.
