First time botox advice.

I'm very wrinkly around my eyes and no amount of serum is making a difference. I think it's time to have botox.

Does anyone have any tips for a first timer like me? Also any recommendations for finding a good clinic would be great. TIA.

don't

ihatemyphone99 · 13/03/2015 20:34

Yeah, don't.

50 year olds with Botox don't look 35 - they look like 50 year olds with Botox

Use oils and moisturisers, masks. Update your make up, make sure your eyebrows are great, check your hairstyle. I bet your wrinkles aren't even that bad.

I met with a colleague for the first time in several years yesterday. It was a struggle not to stare at the bizarrely immobile forehead and cheeks and take the conversation seriously, to be honest. Just don't...

BernadetteMatthews · 13/03/2015 20:41

I only want it on my crows feet. My forehead is ok.

I don't want to look younger than I am I just want to look my age. Years of Sun damage have ruined my skin.

Try and find a doctor or nurse (or clinic) that has been recommended to you, getting a good result depends on lots of different factors.

I believe it's a long term relationship you are setting up with a person so make sure it's affordable and you feel comfortable to ask as many questions you like, and what their aftercare is like.

Reputable clinicians will offer a portfolio of their work and give you other options to what you have specifically asked for so will are presented with all the alternatives and you are in a position to make the best choice for you.

And finally enjoy, I think it's a treatment that gives a lovely refreshed look - always go for underdone and not overdone.

burnishedsilver · 13/03/2015 21:47

I think you only notice botox if it's badly done or over done. If it's subtly done no one will realise you've had it. Go for it.

XiCi · 13/03/2015 22:10

There is no amount of moisturiser or make up that will help crows feet and I second that botox is only noticeable when it is overdone or done badly. Get a recommendation for a good practitioner. Just very small amounts in crows feet make a world of difference. You don't look immobile just refreshed and less lined. Even my eagle eyed friends and mother haven't noticed I've had it but to me it makes a world of difference. Go for it, you'll be amazed at the results.

BernadetteMatthews · 13/03/2015 22:26

Thanks very much. I am going to go for it.

Any recommendations in Northampton or Milton Keynes?

Get someone who is excellent, it will cost more but it's worth it
I love a touch of botox. That's the point though a touch from someone good and you'll love it

F4ttyBumBum · 14/03/2015 20:52

Sorry I only know of North West places - don't think it would be worth your while to travel so far... but good luck!

browtox · 15/03/2015 09:19

ooh ignore the naysayers on here. I bloody love it. It has made me also totally wise up about the fiction that is serums and the rest. I makes me less tired looking and feel great. I regularly get comments on my lovely skin.

BernadetteMatthews · 15/03/2015 10:05

Thanks Brow. I'm going to go for it. I want to lose about 10lbs too though so am not sure if it's best to lose the weight first as my face will hopefully lose a bit of its moon shape too.

It works and the effect is cumulative as I had it about twice a year for 3 years and haven't had it in ages and it seems to be ok. AM leaving it for now but I recommend it as no cream can match it No good for age related lines due to sun just dynamic ones
