Kensington High Street - your shopping tips please!

I used to be a regular on Kensington High Street but have not been shopping in London since before having my DC five years ago.

I have an hour to spend there on my own next week and wonder how best to spend it. I usually shop in Zara, Cos and, when the budget stretches, Toast.

I'm not shopping for any particular occasion but could definitely do with a new pair of jeans.

If your are an hour on High St Kensington, you can you to Gap, H&M, M&S, Accessorize, the big Boots (for make up), Oliver Bonas, Aldo, Russell & Bromley, then cross the road, and go to Cos, Zara Home, Massimo Dutti, around the corner (up Kensington Church St) to LK Bennett, Space NK, Ash and Reiss, then walk back down, turn left back on to High St Ken to L'Occitane, New Look, Uniqlo, Zara, TopShop, TK Maxx. Cross the road again to Whole Foods and Jigsaw, and then you are back where you started.

Ha ha - have caffeine, then GO! Grin

atonofwashing · 12/03/2015 20:53

Belinda, that's fabulous. Wish I could shop like that.
Trip to high st ken long over due.

Twinklestein · 12/03/2015 20:53

Belinda's workout would take me all afternoon.

If you want jeans I would go straight to Trilogy on Kensington Church Street (right hand side, opposite LK Bennett).

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/03/2015 21:16

Obviously I couldnt actually go into all those shops in an hour, not even with a double macchiato to get me going Grin. But that's the round up of the main shops (forgot about Trilogy) and where they are in relation to each other.

thatsmadted · 13/03/2015 08:09

Thanks Belinda. This is jogging my memory very well.

Trilogy looks amazing. I'd never heard of it.

Getting very excited now and dusting off the credit card!

They have a Top Shop and Urban Outfitters there too

on Kensington Church Street they have Ash, LK Bennett, as Belinda says...

I'd personally pick a few shops and do them. Their H&M is one of the few that do homeware if you're after that. The Zara and the Jigsaw shops are nice too, nicely set out, well stocked etc.

SuperFlyHigh · 13/03/2015 10:39

They did have an Arrogant Cat on Kensington Church Street too, a bit different.

zinnia · 13/03/2015 13:23

I think that Jigsaw might have gone, SuperFly, last time I was there (several weeks back) they were messing around yet again with the units beneath what was Barkers/ is now Whole Foods.

You and Belinda have said it all, though. Lucky you, OP, it's ages since I had a good wander down KHS.

nochocolateforlentteacake · 13/03/2015 13:28

Isn't jigsaw now an itsu? Or is that the old Kew...

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 13/03/2015 13:52

The old Kew is now Itsu or Wasabi (I confuse them all the time), Arrogant Cat is gone, and Jigsaw is still there - they are working around it.

SuperFlyHigh · 13/03/2015 13:56

Belinda is right Jigsaw is still there, I went in as SIL who works for William Morris Gallery got free clothes as part of a collaberation last year and I noticed that this Jigsaw had the clothes.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 13/03/2015 15:14

SIL works at that gorgeous William Morris gallery in Walthamstow, SuperFly? Envy

zinnia · 13/03/2015 15:49

That's a relief about Jigsaw, was always a nice shop that one.

Former Kew (RIP) is now a Wasabi.

Must get down there soon, when I lived in W2 was up and down to Ken High St on the bus every weekend!

SuperFlyHigh · 13/03/2015 16:02

Belinda yes that's the one, she's the manager there.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/03/2015 11:22

Lucky her, I imagine it's the dream job for a William Morris fan. How wife was an interesting example of how the ideals of beauty can change over time. I digress... If you like woody / spicy scent, the handcream they sell at the William Morris gallery smells divine.
