Yet another bra help thread please, with post-surgery twist.

OK. I measure 32 round the ribcage. Last time I measured properly I was an H cup but here's the twist - I've had a mastectomy, so can't get an accurate measurement. I've lost a bit of weight, so let's say G cup for now, possibly FF.

I need a mastectomy bra, ie one with pockets. If all else fails, I can get a pocket sewn into a bra that fits, but I'd love some help sourcing my size first.

I am tearing my hair out trying to find this size. Debenhams do offer the size, but their bras have serious problems with the cups - they just don't fit. I have tried on every style they offer. (You can even see on the website models, none of the bras fit properly)

M&S do a bra up to G cup, but you can only get a 36 inch back. Evidently you aren't allowed to have a small frame and a large bust at M&S.

I have found Royce, who will sew in a pocket in their everyday bras. I am a bit miffed at the idea that I have to try one on, send it back, then pay even more for a pocket to be added.

Are there any lovely (Polish?) bra makers who understand that even women with larger breasts have mastectomies?

why why why does every range stop at a DD cup?
why can't I have pretty silky bras?
why won't Bravissimo start doing a mastectomy range?

You don't necessarily need a pocketed bra to hold a prosthesis. It just needs to hold securely, usually but not exclusively on the upper edge of the cup. Deep half cups and balconette styles may also work.
You may need to rotate the prosthesis until the shape looks right, bra cups often hold the breast in a different shape to the natural teardrop.

I've found the Fantasie Rebecca to be pretty amazing on a range of prostheses in the last year or so (I'm trained for this stuff, not a woman with an alternative boob habit!)

Whereabouts are you?

I'm on the South coast.

At the moment I am using soft padding, I have developed a deep loathing of the prosthesis (although I do admit that it looks more realistic).

Thanks, I will check out the Rebecca and look at the bra shapes you mention.

Debenhams have 32G pocketed bras

Betty and Belle are prettier

Thanks CMOT but there is a problem with the Debenhams bras - the cups are way, way smaller than expected. I have tried them all on.

Betty & Belle looks very pretty, thanks.

Sorry, I managed to miss that in your OP Blush
