Hi

I suffer from rosacea and I have &70 to spend on a new skin care routine. I have tried Eucerin (sic?) but it makes the redness worse.

I was using Rosehip oil but that caused me to break out.

Can anyone tell me what they have found best for their skin?

I'm fed up of spending my money on things that don't seem to help!

Thanks! Smile

I use Avene facial wash -can't remember which one but it's a peach coloured liquid - and the Avene Couvrance liquid foundation currently which I order from overseas as I can't find a British stockist. I've also got on okay with the Clinique Redness Solutions foundation in the past but find the Avene a better colour match for my skin. Most moisturisers break me out so I haven't found a solution that works longterm for that yet.

Hi

Fellow sufferer here - tried many of the special rosacea products out there over the years, none of them helped. The only thing that helped at its worst was anti biopics and IPL therapy at a private hospital. Its not so bad now and i find i can use Neal's Yard Soothing Starflower moisturiser and then Clinique Even Better liquid foundation with Benefit Boing! concealer. I found that Clinique cleanser/moisturiser made it worse, Dermolgica ok.

Oddly, i ran out of my Neals Yard starflower cleanser a couple of weeks ago, and in desperation used my husbands 'Simple' soap for sensitive skin to wash my face with and have found it fine!! In fact, my skin is better without cleanser.

I use the Clinique Redness solutions products and find that they work well, but I don't like the cleanser, so use the Elemis balm which seems to be working well. I find that anything too harsh or containing tea tree oil or witch hazel, or alcohol inflames it. I make my own toner with lavender flowers and steep them in water which has really calmed it down. I had the pustules in the summer when I used a new face mask and it was HORRIBLE. I use Metrogel when it flares up badly.

I had rosacea for years until I realised it was triggered by vitamin b6. I stopped taking the daily multivitamins I'd always taken, and the rosacea disappeared within a few days.

I had bad rosacea and saw a consultant dermatologist at the Private Skin Lazer Clinic at the Royal Free Hospital in London (their dermatologist is an NHS consultant who does private work part-time). To treat the rosacea spots on my skin's surface he recommended Azelaic Acid in the morning (The Ordinary do a good cheap one) followed by sunscreen, and Soolantra Cream in the evening. I have a repeat prescription of the Soolantra from my GP. These 2 creams worked a treat. To treat the dilated capillaries under the surface (the permanent blushing) I have had 5 lazer treatments, 4 weeks apart (it's expensive but works). Very little redness remains but I will need top up lazer treaments every couple of years as apparently the enlarged capillaries will return. Good luck!
