Static cling!

I've just taken delivery of a dress I love - a short, Pucci-style tunic. It wasn't cheap, but should be worth its weight in gold in the Summer, and when it's got a bit tired, will work beautifully as a beach / pool cover up.

I'd love to keep it.

But ... it clings, it clings dreadfully even though it's right out of the box. And my suspicion is that it always will.

Anyone had any success banishing chronic cling??

If anyone you know travels to the US, get them to bring you back an aerosol of Static Cling. There are alternative products that I have bought from Amazon in the UK, but not as effective. Just spray the garment before you wear it, and it should behave for a few hours at least!

I always find rubbing a tiny film of body cream on myself and also on the clingy garment reduces static instantly. I usually do it while it's on and just sort of skim. I have heard hairspray is good too but never tried it as I hate the smell

nice dress BTW

I also always put cream on top my tights much to DHs amusement - Vaseline intensive care unfragranced is my cream of choice

Return it. Its always going to be a pita.

That's what I was afraid of, Burnished. A garment that develops a bit of static after being washed is one thing. Something that gives trouble right from the off is another .... I suspect.

I might try earthing it to something metal. Daren't try any of the other solutions in case I can't return it.

Oh bugger.
