I look like rubbish.

Two stone heavier than before DD. Wear the same stuff all the time.

How I sort myself out, in small steps??

I remember that feeling.

I started a healthy eating plan (chocolate is great but doesn't help).

I made a list of the clothes I needed -, in my case it was:
Jeans
Black trousers
Couple of work tops
Some nice t-shirts/tops
Cardigan & jumper in colours that suited me

  • in the size I was (not what I wanted to be). And put all the ones that didn't fit into a bin liner under my bed so they weren't there depressing me...
Then went out and bought the things I didn't have on the list. I also made sure that I had at least one pair of shoes and handbag I really liked, plus a couple of nice scarves (doesn't matter what size you are for these Smile)

Then I went and had a decent hair cut and took a trip to the make up counters to revisit my skincare (my skin changed a lot during pregnancy/after).

I then made a real effort to do more exercise, either walking to places a lot or going swimming one evening a week - it gave me some me-time back and made me feel much better.

That's extremely helpful - thank you.

I think the buying things the size I am, is important. I have a wardrobe of beautiful clothes that fitted me pre DD when I went out drinking without eating and smoked like a chimney. I think I need to accept those days have gone, and I'm not a size 10 any more, and unlikely to be anytime soon Hmm

You may find that your shape has changed, even after you shift the weight so be prepared to have to wear slightly different styles. I was much thicker round my middle after my first, which made me look less pear shaped but took some getting used to. Sadly, after three I never have lost the excess weight so am thicker round pretty much everywhere!

My shape has definitely changed and I really struggled to lose weight.
I remember watching a girl on gok's show whose body changed after having a baby, except she went from a size 14-16 to a size 8-10. I always hoped that would happen to me, but alas noSmile

Nice accessories can work wonders - and definitely put away everything that doesn't fit.

I went through that having to accept my new shape after my first DS was born 12 years ago! Getting new, stylish clothes in your new size will make a difference to how you feel rather than scrubbing around in yuck maternity clothes for an extra six months which is what I did
