Powder Mineral foundation - which one is best

I've been using the Bare Minerals foundation (in light) for a few years now but I've noticed that Mac and Sheer Cover come in at the same price.

Basically does anyone have an opinion on what is the better brand to buy?

Bare Minerals doesn't seem to 'warm up' too much on me and Sheer Cover only do 3 shades, and only 2 that might suit me - bit confused and I don't want to spend £25 on something that will make me look like an orange Grin.

Many thanks

I like lily lolo - but that's because I have very tricky skin (rosacea) that breaks out with Bare minerals.

They do tester versions so you don't have to worry about expensive mistakes.

Thanks Scrambled, didn't think of testers! Best to try the new product. Still very interested to hear opinions though.

Well IMO when I tested BM I found that it caked on me somewhat as the day went on, and I got oiler than when I used LL or SC. BM is heavier coverage than LL but LL lasts better on my skin.

Never tried Mac or Smashbox, but they're also meant to be very good. Another thing that I like about LL is that it's £13.49 (plus P&P) for a pot that lasts ages. They also do lovely kabuki brushes for much less than BM. The baby bukis are surprisingly useable.

SC is lovely but £££

Thanks scrambled, that seems the cheapest thing to try at the moment

I was going to post this exact question having never used a mineral foundation but was recommended to try one. Will look at the options recommended. Thanks.

I use Pure Magic Minerals sometimes, it is excellent for the price. You can buy it from Ebay, Amazon or their own website.

I bought the wrong colour initially but the seller sent me 4 samples. Recently bought a different shade which is perfect and with that she sent me 4 more samples sizes plus a whole jar of a lighter shade too, I was really impressed.

You are supposed to apply it the usual way with a kabuki brush but I find it easier to blend if I use a slightly damp sponge, after letting moisturiser sink in.

I use Bellapierre or Lily Lolo. The Bp one is pricey but seems to go on and on and gives good coverage but the LL one also feels good. The LL kabuki and baby kabuki brush is really good.
