Greying at the temples

Hi all, I'm 34 and over the last couple of years I've started greying at the temples. My hair is naturally light brown and it isn't too noticeable usually as I have a fringe, but if I pull my hair back at the temples it is getting more and more Confused

I've never really dyed my hair or done anything to it apart from brushing really. I have 2 little ones (3 and 1) so have little time or money. What would you suggest for dealing with this grey? I'm not keen on full permanent dye because I'd imagine it has a lot of upkeep needed - or do I need to accept that's probably the only option? I tried a semi permanent dye a few months ago to try and match the natural colour but it didn't seem to dye the greys.

Any advice appreciated!

I'm in the same situation in that I have a couple of greys at the temple.

I tried a semi permanent, but it turned the greys really bright.

I'll be waiting to see what others suggest, as i can get away with not doing too much at the moment, but I'm on borrowed time.

I have this too but have very dark hair so its very noticeable. I use roots touch up hair dye, in the colour closest matching my natural hair colour. Could that be an option?

Honestly, if that's your grey hair you have nothing to worry about Smile. You should see mine.

I started greying at the temples about your age. I'm now nearly 42 and that whole area is completely white.

My natural hair colour is mousy brown (apart from the grey obviously Blush).

What I do is highlight it quite a light shade of blonde. I do it myself and only do about half a head (I have quite long hair) and the grey blends in really well and actually looks okay with a bit of re growth even.

Not sure if that is an option for you.

I have it too and actually really like it! I have such a young looking face that anything that makes me look a bit older is a huge bonus in my book. So I embrace it rather than trying to cover it up!

Thanks all,

Sounds like root touch up or highlights might be a good option - I shall investigate further Grin

superdrug do a small bottle of shampoo in colour, a bit like the old fashioned toners and shaders. (you'll remember these if your a certain age ;))
these are my best friend as they just blend my grey in without it standing out or having to touch roots up...
they do loads if shades and a tip is don't go to dark. if your light haired go for a 7 base. They cost about £1.50
If you do try them please feed back how you get on Smile Smile
