November wedding outfit for Trinny-esque frame

Ooh, have just discovered this board on MN. Handy, as I have wheeled out the same old - albeit lovely - outfit for the last five weddings I've been to, all summer ones. And we're off to one in just over a fortnight and I have nothing suitable to wear.

I'm not a girly shopper type, but put heaps of effort into said summer outfit and really pulled it off. Less opportunity for effort this time around, so please help!

Frame: Trinny-esque (big boned, slim, broad shoulders, no boobs at all) BUT good-enough-to-get-out legs and ankles too

Usually suit shirts, high and wide neck openings, some v-necks

Shawls or chest/boob detail good for hiding AAA cup

Biggish bum and thin legs, so A-line skirts silly and pencil skirts flattering

Flared trousers the most flattering cut

Like heels

Long brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin (which can be tanned if needed )

For anyone who does the season thing, I'm a "winter" - red, navy, black, grey, white, sky blue, baby pink and cerise are my most flattering colours. Some tones of turquoise, emerald green and deep purple can also be pulled off

Dress me, girls!

Thanks ever so much. EBAB

wrap dress v difficult on the trinnny-esque!

I am a different shape to you, and an Autumn to boot, but my immediate thought is to get yourself a suit.

I had a similar sudden wedding in April (too cold for summer staples) and managed to get hold of a brown moleskin trouser suit. Cream camisole, heels, bag, big necklace and I was good to go - I've also worn it incessantly since then with different tops etc, so if you're canny it'll last the next five winter weddings, plus Christmas parties if you're cunning with the sparkle.

With your legs I might be tempted to look for a suit with a pencil skirt but trousers are more versatile really - the critical thing is the cut, esp where the jacket ends on the bum.

Try a top with a slash neck and ruffled front, or a cowl neck, or sequins or something underneath so when you ditch the jacket for the party you still look glam.

Unfortunately I am rubbish at discerning fit and shape from photos of clothes online so can only recommend you go and try lots of things on - my suit was from [shame] Next to Nothing but it does fit very well.
If you're rolling in money Hobbs usually does a good line in wide trousers - this girl is standing abominably but the cut of the trousers looks hopeful. Actually they have some rather fine skirts too.

Oh, and colourwise grey is easier to dress up than black (add silver or pewter), but cerise could look fabulous.

Thanks, ladies. The stripy dress, perhaps surprisingly for Trinny-esque figure, would work I think. And the trouser cut is spot-on for me. Just think I'll avoid all-black for a wedding!

Cheers. EBAB
