Desperately need clothes for 10 year old boy

I've posted on here before about clothes for him but I'm doing it again because his weight has increased and it's even more difficult getting clothes for him. He's put on a lot of weight around his rear which is an added complication when buying pants for him, and there's also still the issue of nothing fitting over or around his belly.

Any good suggestions will be really appreciated :)

what size does he actually wear? Do you mean trousers?

CarolDW · 26/02/2015 21:25

At the minute he wears size 12-13 (which he really can't wear any longer) and some size 12-13 plus size (which sort of fit)

When I said pants I was talking about trousers

H & M go up to about age 16, and I think GAP does as well. At one time, GAP used to do a wider fit (think it was called "husky").
But I think with that waist and hip measurement, you'll need to get men's clothes.
When my oldest DS was that size, we used to get black school trousers from the men's dept at M&S. If you get the ones with a double pleat in the front, it will give a bit more room for movement around the hip and thigh. You'll have to take them up, but that's not a major problem.
I think M&S also do wider fit teen school trousers ( maybe online?).
For out of school, tracky bottoms - from anywhere, really . Asda do a big range of sizes. If they are not ribbed at the bottom, they are easier to take up.
Sports Direct is also quite good for bigger sizes.

Is there anywhere where ill be able to get chinos and jeans to fit him ?

He really doesn't like tracksuit bottoms and is a bit fussy about trousers, it's particularly awkward because the majority of jeans and chinos need to be fastened up at the waist, which is always a big problem for him.

Bhs do children's generous fit sizes.

Have you tried Sturdy Kids?

CarolDW · 26/02/2015 22:01

I've tried sturdy kids but there's not much for him there. I don't need uniform for him I should point out. It's just casual clothes

I think you might have to buy adult trousers and have them altered for length.

Vagndidit · 26/02/2015 22:08

My 7 year old has a similar build. We use Sturdy Kids for school clothes. Otherwise, he spends lot of time in jogging bottoms and elastic waist athletic pants.

I buy a lot from the US (Old Navy and Children's Place are particularly good for quality, comfy clothes) Beats the heck out of the skinny jean variety of trousers that are popular here.

CarolDW · 26/02/2015 22:37

I've tried to tell my DS to try something other than skinny jeans because they aren't that nice and they look really bad on him anyway.

I've looked at the stuff that Old Navy and Children's place have but they don't have anything to fit him.
