Can anyone recommend a lipstick that doesnt bleed?

I'm having problems with a BeautyUK lipstick and a Sleek lipstick - lovely colours but they bleed every time I wear them and look rubbish. I prep with lip balm and use a lip pencil but it makes no difference.

Anyone know of a reliable brand that doesn't do this?

The Sleek lippies are very slippy. I love the colours but find them problematic.

I find Rimmel lipsticks stay really well without any feathering or bleeding.

Rimmel is a budget brand so that's good news Smile Any particular Rimmel range that works well Bianca? I tried a couple of the Moisture Renew ones a while back and they were dreadful for spreading around and smearing.

I have this problem with so many lipsticks. One of the best I have found are Avon Extra lasting. This one doesn't have amazing lasting power as it's a creamy texture but it never feathers. I wear 'totally twig' when I want a MLBB shade- it is a pink toned brown. Another shade I like is 'ravishing rose' as this is a deep raspberry shade that doesn't look fuchsia/blue pink when worn.

Mac is good in the more matte formulations like 'Chili'.

Boots No 7 Stay Perfect is like the Avon one in texture but with more staying power. It is not one of those ones that turns crusty on the lips like the ones you have to put a balm over.

Estée Lauder Double wear is a comfortable stay on one- again without the crusty factor although the colours can translate a bit chalky on the lips.

Slightly more glossy but good at staying put- Clarins Rouge Prodige lipstick.

Maybelline Colorsensational ones are pretty good. Very little feathering.

Lastly- this is hard to get here because it is Italian - Collistar. Best pigmented lipstick that isn't matte in the slightest but stays put. Wish they sold them here.

I find that most lipsticks bleed a little bit on me (including Guerlain Rouge G, Tom Ford, some Mac finishes and so on), but it helps applying with a brush instead of directly from the bullet.

Matte lipsticks bleed less on me than the more creamy ones. If I wear a creamy one, I tend to wear a matte/dry formula underneath and that really helps - and means that it lasts all day.

If you wear lip balm before applying the lipstick, do you blot/remove the balm?

For reds, I tend to use Inglot Lip Pencil in 21 - it's a blue toned red and it's a thick pencil, not a 'normal' lip pencil. It is very nice but quite dry.
You can get clear lip pencils that might help you - I've never found them to help much as they aren't dry enough for me.

Mac's Matte and Retro Matte formulas last well on me as well.

If you like something slightly more neutral, then I find that the Clinique Chubby Sticks last well and do not bleed. The Intense range is more pigmented and is just as good as the original.
Other balm-like lipsticks that last well on me are Dior Rouge Baume, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine, Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm and the Guerlain Shine/Rouge Automatique.

I like the Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour lipsticks a lot too - they are more like normal, creamy lipsticks and they do not bleed on me.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm are also very nice - they have the same shape as Chubby Sticks, but are pigmented like a normal lipstick and matte. And taste of mint - very nice and quite affordable.

Thanks all, lots to think about. May invest in a lip brush and see how it goes.
