What's a self tying belt?

I'm thinking of buying this dressing gown www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_161010317355_-1, and it claims it comes with a "self tying sash belt". What on earth does that mean? Confused - thanks.

A belt that you tie yourself and doesn't have a buckle and holes, ie like the belt on a dressing gown!

Aaah, thank you! Blush

'Self' in this context means 'the same colour as the item of clothing'. So it's not 'self tying...' (am sure that would be a great selling point though!) it's 'self, tying...' i.e. a belt that you tie that is the same colour as the dressing gown.
Shows the importance of a well placed comma!

pinkbadger: Ooh, interesting!!
(Indeed www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/self-belt corroborates you.)

I would have assumed do it yourself, like a self clearing restaurant (anyone else had one of those at work?).
