My Grey hair

So after some advice on here....and a bit of pushing (I hadn't realised that grey hair was a feminist issues and now I can really see it is!), I took the plunge and decided to let my grey come through and get rid of the dark brunette (that faded quickly anyway).
Now... I have to admit I am struggling. In my head I am still a brunette so I find the image in the mirror a bit of a shook. The hairdresser is great and is helping me grow the colour out.... so now I am a mixture of honey blondeish highlights and grey (or white really).

I have a bob hairstyle and quite honestly I am struggling to like it. I think it is the mix of colour. So..... should I get it cut quite radically and be mostly grey and possibly have a more radical colour in bits of it (I quite fancy a deep pink), or just see if I can bear it and keep going and gradually get there....

What do you think?

I think if you are unhappy you should go back to brunette.

I left my hair for a couple of months without dyeing and I just thought it was depressing!

I don't see what feminism has to do with it. my hair, my choice!

How far into growing your dye out are you? The half way stage is awful, but I've loved my grey since it was fully in.

You can add bright pink easily using Manic Panic which is a semi, and if your grey is mixed, you would get a lovely effect of bright on the white and darker on the blonde

Of those two options, I would cut it.

I don't think grey bits coloured pink would look in any way nice.

It's hard to grow out grey. I didn't want to do it that way so shaved my head. Admittedly not for everyone Grin but it meant I had my natural grey hair in fully rather than having different colours going on at the same time.

If you want to embrace the grey fully then cut it. If you don't want to be grey then dye. Don't beat yourself up about the feminist ramifications. It's your hair and your choice and that's all the feminism that comes into it.

I'm at the half way point. I think part of the problem is I started to grow my hair and now it is a good bob (but that is also difficult to get used to) and it is a different colour as well! I think the issue is it was a richer colour and I think if I got rid of the blonde it would also be a richer colour, which is a bit weird. I am going to the hairdressers on Thursday so need to make up my mind by then.

I have embraced the grey and love my grey streaks (both side partings). I chopped my bob to avoid 2-toned hair grow out and 2.5 years on still have it short.

If you cut it, please make sure you end up with a funky- , and not a little old ladies-, cut. Look on-line for images, and show those that you like to your hairdresser.

Short hair does needs love and attention, but this doesn't have to be time consuming. Glued Hairspray is my new best friend. Smile

I have had short before and would do funky. That's why I am wondering about a different colour with it (but not a traditional colour iyswim). One of my dsis dies here hair dark and to be quite honest it doesn't work anymore - & I think it is possibly darker than she ever was. She is quite a bit older than me but I am fairly sure I don't want to dye my hair forever and particulalry not how often I was having to do it (& if not at home the hairdresser expense).

Shots of pinks and blues look great on short hair. Sure, if you don't like it, you can change it easily. Smile
