Curly hair style help

Now that I'm in my more mature years , my hair is making me look scruffy and unkempt.
I tried going quite a bit shorter but it's still a mess in its natural state.
The problem is that I'm useless at blow drying.
I need a short style that is easy to manage, doesn't take advanced blow drying skills, and yet is current.
Any suggestions please? Either on style or tools. Should I try the Babyliss Big Hair or similar.
My hair is currently just below chin length when curly, if I straighten it, almost shoulder length.

I can highly recommend the Babyliss big hair.
There is a smaller brush and I have that one.
I've straightened my hair for years and years.
It really helps smooth it out though.
Worth a go maybe.
Sainsburys had them for very cheap but looking now they don't seem to have any.
I got mine from Debenhams.

I have very curly and thick hair so this helps but I do still need to give it a quick straighten after drying.
My hair hold much better using the BBH though.

I've curly hair and was straightening it for years but I was never happy with the condition of it even though I was using intensive treatments and protective spray.

I started Curly Girl a year ago and the frizz has gone and I have shiny well behaved hair which is in great condition.

Working with my curls and not against them is the best thing I've done and I've received more compliments than when my hair was straight.

I've ordered the smaller brush Big Hair. Have been asking around for local stylists as I've got no idea about current hair styles.

Zara, I've been doing CG for about 4 years now, my hair is in reasonable condition even though it's coloured every 5 weeks, but I've never been able to find a hairdresser who knows how to cut it properly to wear it curly. Still absolutely unable to get second day hair - I look like the Wild Woman of Borneo on day 2 and it takes so long to dry that I can't be bothered washing it every day.
If I could find someone fairly local - within about a 50 mile radius of home - who could cut it well in a curly style I'd be much happier.

Gin where do you live? I got mine cut with Mat James and he did a fantastic job. My regular hairdresser just trims my hair and it still looks great. I can go 3 days without washing and my curls look better the next day. Do you have layers that made all the difference.

Zara, I'm in Cheshire, so a trip to Birmingham isn't too far. I'd heard that Matt wasn't taking any more clients though.

I just had a look on his web page and it doesn't mention restricting clients. I'm hoping to get an appointment with him later in the year.

Thanks, I'll try him again. I saw a comment on his FB page a few weeks before Christmas about no new clients. Or maybe I saw it on the Curly Girls FB page, anyway, perhaps he meant no new ones during the busy pre-Christmas period.
