Help me find a day look

I'm a new mother and being on maternity leave is the first time I've really needed clothes for the day. My day clothes up until now have been smart/corporate work wear and I have lots of night out clothes which aren't seeing the light out day and I'm living in the handful of clothes i wore on the weekends.

I'd love to look a little more put together. I'm wearing jeans and jumpers everyday at the moment and I still want to be comfortable and wear things that are easy to move about it.

Help!

Congratulations on your new baby. Boy or girl?.
Weekend clothes can be just as nice and suitable for the week if they're dressed down.
Or how about investing in 3 day dresses. 1 washing, 1 wearing, and 1 drying. I don't think you can go wrong with dresses. They're smart, elegant, comfortable. I can't advise on shops or prices because I I don't know your size or budget.

Have you had a look on Pinterest? It's really good for finding out what kind of looks you like. For example, is something like a soft jersey blazer, simple top, skinny jeans and Converse something that appeals to you? Or are you more of a dress, scarf and boots girl?

Thank you, I've got a little boy and he's gorgeous, a proper little smiler!

I'm trying to find clothes that are comfortable enough to move about in, but aren't scruffy looking. Something that doesn't look too dressy if I the baby to a baby group, but also feels a bit more made up than the years old jumper and jeans I'm currently wearing. I probably want the holy grail of clothing, looks great, washes easily and feels comfortable. I'm short, size 8, hourglass and breastfeeding so have disproportionately large boobs (which will hopefully disappear).

I love Jersey style dresses but because I'm breastfeeding, am tending not to wear them that much at the moment. I'm probably more of a skinny jeans and top kind of girl, but to be honest I have no idea how to do dressed down dressing. My wardrobe had always been geared around my work life or my night life, never my at home life. I suppose I'm starting from scratch here.

Ah, ok, so it's important that the tops work for breastfeeding. I used to wear button down tops and wrap front dresses when BF-ing my little boy, although a big scarf does the job just as well. What basics do you have already? For example, a pair of dark denim skinny jeans? I swear by a mix of Uniqlo sweatshirts, skinnies and Converse for day with a vibrant (usually leopard print) scarf to liven things up, but that's because I'm working at home, not feeding a baby!
