Looking to buy a gift for a friend who has just become a mum.
Have got something for baby but wanted to get something for mum too.
My budget is really low (like under £15) I was thinking jewellery or something she can keep (as a post to creams/candles etc)
Any suggestions would be greatfully received!

Assuming she is BFing...have you seen breastfeeding jewellery? Designed for babies to grab when feeding (ie strong enough to withstanding being yanked by tiny hands!). A lot of it isn't to my taste personally but there are of bits which I like.

A long cotton (or other washable fabric) scarf is handy to wear for when you want to BF discreetly.

Although you weren't looking for lotions and potions, I have a new found love of decent hand cream post-DC.

Ah don't think she is breast feeding as she wasn't getting on with it but thank you

I appreciate you don't want to buy creams but someone got me a burts bees multi pack and it was the best thing ever. I was using it so sparinglyto make it last, it is a lovely treat... useful if you have to resort to creams instead!! Smile

A new lipstick. A great lipstick distracts from the scary under eye shadows you can get w new babies or maybe it was just me who looked hideously tired

My best friend made me a gift basket with bits to do so I didn't go mad with boredom when DH went back to work. She got me a book to read whilst bf, a baby fingerprint kit as a little craft, a baby food cook book and a felting kit to make a keepsake toy for DD. I loved it. Not particularly stylish but an ideaSmile

I think the bf jewellery will come in handy anyway and is a lovely keepsake, even bottle fed babies like pulling on sparkly stuffGrin

I was going to say Burts Bees!

Otherwise....a magazine subscription if there are offers on something suitable, or buy the nicest bottle of whatever kind of wine she might like and add a babysitting voucher?

New lipstick also a great idea, or a new nail polish. Or a voucher for a mobile beauty therapist? I know £15 won't go far but she can top it up.

By far the best present I received as a new mum was a lovely hand cream! There is so much hand washing from changing nappies that your hands get really dry. It's a great gift!
