Where can I go for a make up lesson?

My mum took my photo this week and just emailed it to me. I look horrendous!
I have used the same Clarins Foundation for 4 years and I love coverage. I recently bought their cream blusher but find it barely shows up on my face. I am very pale and fair skinned and I just look pasty.
I am also really rubbish at doing eye make up.
What I would like is a make up lesson at one of the beauty counters. I probably will buy something but cannot afford to replace all my cosmetics so nowhere too pushy. Which beauty counter is worth a try?

Bobbi Brown do free make up lessons (re bridal one is really comprehensive so you could pretend you're getting married!). Mac also do them for a charge redeemable against purchases

Benefit do them and you just have to buy two items, although they do cost £££

I went to SpaceNK Canary Wharf a few weeks ago and the lady was fab. It cost £25 or free of you buy more than £25 worth of products. She spent at least an hour and half with me, very knowledgable and best of all she told me to bring what I already had at home so that she could show me the best ways to use them. There was no hard sell. Thanks to her I didn't throw out Dior eyeshadow palette - it turns out I was rubbish at applying them and there was nothing wrong with the product Blush.

Another option is the next time you have a special occasion pay to have your make up done professionally. The make up artist will tell you what products they prefer (and are rarely tied to one brand so use a mixture) and you can quiz them and chat away while they are doing your make up so get a lesson for free (well as part of the cost of the makeup).

Mac. I can't quite remember but I think they charged £50 and then it was redeemable against products. they were not pushy, really took time to understand my needs

Thank you for all the suggestions, I think one where I can redeem the cost against some products would be good and I love the idea of taking my existing make up with me. I'm really hopeless with hair and makeup and although I love the idea of trying new products I'm too scared, especially as they are not exactly cheap!
Yesterday I was all ready to have my hair chopped off but an hour on youtube gave me some new ideas for styling it and I quite like it today! I definitely need someone to show me with make up and help me choose the colours.
