I have finally successfully reached my target weight. I've list 3 stone on a year and have gone from a size 18 to a 10-12 . But I now have nothing to wear.
Whilst loosing weight to bought very cheap clothes that fit. I didn't really think of a style.
I now want to reinvent myself. I'm 5'4 with short spikey hair. I'm a teacher with 2dcs aged 2 and 1. Not a huge budget .
Any ideas?

How old are you?

Buttercup27 · 16/02/2015 16:49

Sorry I'm 28. Not great in heels but can do wedges. I just want to look good.

I did house of colour , colour analysis and then the
style day. It really helped me to get an idea of a style that made me feel good, I was comfortable with and made me smile.
It saved me money in the long run too.

Ooooo that sounds good.

I think the key is to get a consultant you are happy with.
You can book a personal shopper at the big department stores too which is free.
Ask for some one around your age

I prefered the house of colour two days as I was at a complete loss how to dress comfortably but didn't make me look like a bag lady .

When I asked for help from the assistant in John Lewis she called over the personal shopper as she choose some lovely outfits.

Do you prefer trousers or dresses/ skirts? I love the idea of dresses, but always end up in trousers! There are some lovely patterned ones out there. Find a style you like and start from there. Try on loads of stuff that you like and see what works. I am same size/ height as you and have a peroxide blonde crop. I love skinnies, oasis for tops, odd things from top shop. Remember the high street is your oyster!

You've done really well to lose so much weight.

Which famous women do you think are attractive? What were you happiest wearing before you had children? For how long did you have a problem with your weight? Did you have a period of time in your teens or twenties when you were a similar weight to now?

Yy to getting some professional help. I used an image consultant 3 yr ago who did directional colour analysis. I had actually met her at a party and liked her and her style, so felt very comfortable with her. I had colour and style analysis. It really helps, as I can filter out things that aren't suitable easily. I actually don't have lots of clothes but everything works well together.

Lucky you! Well done with the weight loss.

Personally, I wouldn't hand over to an image consultant. I'd be all over Pinterest and vogue trying to work out what I wanted. I like a hip euro-look at the moment, but have gone for funky/romantic/slick/whatever in the past. If you get someone else to do it, you'll probably end up looking tasteful but miss out on some of the fun of the referencing.
