Would you critique my job interview outfit?

... while there is still time to change it?

Job is charity sector but quite a large one. Role I am going for is public, professional role but charity us outdoorsy and eco.
I wore this outfit to my last interview and got the job. I felt good in it -smart while individual.
It is a cream silk t'shirt, taupe jacket with 3/4 length sleeves and shawl sort of collar, wide leg crepe black trousers although may have to wear slightly less nice ones as i have lost weight. Shoes could be flat suede points or heeled pointy toe ankle boots or I could buy a new pair of courts.

Sounds good to me- although I might swap wide legged for cigarette trousers in black or grey.

Something like this

I don't have a good pair at the moment. Am also worried it would show off my slightly dodgy shoe choices.

Nice trews!

Pointed flats or kitten heels would work well with those.

Or see it as an excuse to buy new shoes Grin

I work for a small charity in a professional (but usually not public facing) role. It can be hard to get the balance right: professional and creative but also approachable. Your outfit sounds fine, provided you feel right in it. My own experience is that they don't take that much notice of interview outfits, provided you look smart, clean and tidy. However a large charity might be a bit more corporate - don't know what anyone else thinks?

Having said all that, those trousers do look nice!

I am reliant on clarks here, so not as much fun as it could be. I have also broken my little toe so most shoes are out.

Thanks for your reassurance. I wasn't sure if a suit was a must.

Ouch. Having broken a toe recently, I sympathise.

I'm guessing these would be too tight?

margaritasbythesea · 13/02/2015 17:36

I love those. I noticed them the other day. It seems to be entirely random what i can and cannot wear. One pair if ballet flats from claeks is fine the other pair hurts like hell. Might just have a look. I did notice that the patent pair in coral are a lot brighter in RL.

What do you think of these? I have a very similar burgundy pair which i can manage to walk in.

I can't see a link...

margaritasbythesea · 13/02/2015 18:56

here idiot alert.

They'd do, but I don't like them. Not a fan of nude shoes, TBH.

Do you need wide fitting shoes?

tethersend · 13/02/2015 19:36

pointed loafers?

tethersend · 13/02/2015 19:39

with ankle strap

margaritasbythesea · 13/02/2015 20:11

Again, annoyingly, sometimes yes and sometimes no. I think i prefer the ones i have to those i am afraid. Would you wear the next ones for interview?

OP posts:
margaritasbythesea · 13/02/2015 20:30

these are the flats I have in black.

OP posts:
tethersend · 13/02/2015 20:40

Oh yes, wear those. They're much nicer than the ones I linked to. Was struggling with wide fit TBH Grin

margaritasbythesea · 13/02/2015 21:46

Thankyou!
