Do you wear jewellery every day?

What do you wear? I haven't worn jewellery in so long but am starting to make more of an effort and take more pride in my appearance. I've got in some very small pearl earrings and a simple silver necklace with a leaf on.

My wedding and engagement rings on my left hand, my grannies wedding and engagement rings on my right hand.
Hermes watch.
Sometimes earrings, either diamond studs or small drops

daughterofliz · 11/02/2015 16:46

I usually wear a watch (though I don't really think of that as jewellery, it's not very valuable or decorative), two silver rings that function as wedding and engagement rings although they're not my original ones, some kind of ring (usually silver) on the other hand and one pair of earrings. The third ring and earrings are not always the same ones as I have quite a big collection. My favourite rings are a wide silver one with spinning bands of different textures and a much more delicate one with an oval moonstone set at a diagonal angle (my not-really-engagement ring also has a small moonstone in it). My favourite earrings are either silver studs with semi-precious stones (often moonstone, green amber or tiger eye) or plain silver hoops about 4cm across. I don't wear huge hoops or very long dangly earrings as I think it emphasises the fact that I've got a fairly short neck.

I like necklaces and bracelets but don't wear them as often as the things above. My current favourite necklace is a white shell pendant DH gave me for our last anniversary, but I only like wearing it with a slightly lower neckline. I have loads of bangles collected from charity shops and I go through phases or wearing a few of them together, but don't always bother as it takes time to decide which combination to wear!

Another jewellery fiend here too. Always wear earrings/ necklace/wedding ring/another ring/watch/bracelet. Never gave this up when I had DS. He just got used to it so it wasn't a curiosity. He has now developed quite good taste when choosing gifts for me, especially when using his dad's money!

I wear jewellery every day, but I take my rings and often also watch off while cooking and cleaning.

I wear my engagement ring which is an eternity ring with the diamonds off-centre on my left ring finger.
On my right ring finger, I am currently wearing a Georg Jensen Fusion ring in rosegold (just the middle bit) and a gilded silver ring with a crystal from Carré as the GJ ring is a bit large but should fit perfectly when/if I get the end bits as well.
I do change this quite often and will often wear silver rings from Georg Jensen or Hermes instead.

I find bracelets a bit impractical so I don't wear them that often but I do have a few I really love. I do wear a watch and I do consider it jewellery despite it being a fairly sporty watch.

I always wear at least one necklace - usually simple ones such as Tiffany's Diamonds by the Yard, Tiffany's Bean in silver or vintage pendants on thin chains. I like layering some of the more similar necklaces and mixing metals. I collect porcelain necklaces from Royal Copenhagen so I wear them quite a bit too.
Today, I'm wearing a necklace from Accessorize.

I usually wear vintage simple pearls with gold studs.

I love jewellery and not just the expensive kind. Most of my jewellery is important to me because of the memories attached to who gave it to me, or to the oerson I inherited it from or because of the situation in which the jewellery was given to me.

Nocturne123 · 11/02/2015 17:48

Yes I wear my wedding ring and engagement ring on left hand and a claddagh ring on right hand

I also wear a silver cross that my dad got me when I was 13. I've only taken it off a handful of times since.

I never wear costume jewellery though as I can't pull it off.

usualsuspect333 · 11/02/2015 17:53

I always wear earrings.

PunkrockerGirl · 11/02/2015 17:53

Wedding and engagement ring on left hand, my late mum's engagement ring on the right. Earrings (3 in each ear) and a necklace or gold chain.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/02/2015 18:00

Earrings always (I have 2 in one ear, one in the other) usually studs.
Wedding ring and if I'm not at work, a full pave eternity band.

No watch
Rarely necklace.

Infection Control at work means I can wear a pair of stud earrings + a wedding band. That's all.
(I have a new lovely court wedding band , fingers got too hairy trucker for my original ring )

CointreauVersial · 11/02/2015 18:24

Another jewellery lover here.

My wedding and engagement rings never change, and I tend to wear the same everyday earrings every day, but then I add a bracelet or two, a necklace and a ring on my right hand. All coordinating with whatever I happen to be wearing.

I have a mixture of fine jewellery and costume jewellery, old and new, all sorts of styles. I have a Stackers jewellery box so I can see what I've got.

maybemyrtle · 11/02/2015 19:00

Yes. Always engagement ring, stud earrings, a watch and a necklace. Not at all blingy though - my watches are all functional rather than decorative, and my necklaces are mostly from Etsy and range from simple silver or rose gold to long brass geometric ones.

Jacksterbear · 11/02/2015 19:02

Wedding and engagement ring (do take off to apply body lotion daily, otherwise wear all the time). Elsa Perretti initial pendant necklace - only take off when wearing other necklaces or if clashes with neckline of top, otherwise on all the time. Watch - about half the time.

DuchessDisaster · 11/02/2015 22:08

If I am working, earrings, probably a necklace, as I widow I do not feel the need to wear my wedding ring every day, but I do if I feel the need to be "official". Other single rings on my right hand.
I never wear a watch, although I have 3.
Depends on where I am going, what I am wearing and my mood.

JaceLancs · 11/02/2015 23:45

I love my jewellery too - can't wear costume due to allergies

I nearly always buy antique - have an eye for a bargain - some things I've had for years others I tire of and sell or trade quite quickly

My tastes have changed over the years, when younger I always wore flamboyant or quirky earrings but simple rings, now it's the other way round

I can't always be bothered to change jewellery so tend to stick to neutral stones diamonds, pearls, opals etc

Every few weeks I will change my look, sometimes to a theme

Ludways · 12/02/2015 00:08

Yes, wedding and engagement rings, another ring on other hand, two bracelets, a necklace and earrings. I sleep in the full set too, lol. I periodically change the necklace, bracelets and earrings but keep the same 3 rings.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 12/02/2015 00:16

Engagement and wedding ring on left hand, watch on right.

Day to day, I rarely wear much else, as DD is grabby, and most of my jewellery is delicate and silver, and I don't want it broken. Occasionally studs, but almost never necklaces or earrings round her.

When I do, I never ever wear earrings and a necklace together. I think it looks like an 80s Sociology lecturer, no idea where I got this idea, but I cannot shake it.

I also love the (?) Coco Chanel advice that you should put on your jewellery, then take off one piece to be perfectly tricked out.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 12/02/2015 01:08

Yes but only costume jewellery, bracelet, ring earrings. If I am wearing a plain dress I will wear a necklace

in colors that match/compliament what I'm wearing.

Postchildrenpregranny · 12/02/2015 01:42

Always my wedding ring, made for me -I feel naked without it - and usually the diamond stud earrings DH bought for our 25th wedding anniversary (accompanied by DD1 who persuaded him, rightly, I would prefer smaller but better quality. I'm told he spent far more than he intended. That's my girl!)

Usually when I go out ,my engagement ring (Edwardian, tiny diamonds but very pretty) , my 'maternity ' ring-Amethyst (DD2 birthstone) with 4 diamonds (DD1 birthstone), my mothers wedding and engagement rings and an emerald and diamond dress ring which was MILs . We were burgarled many years ago, and I lost most of my jewelry so I now wear the things most precious to me when I leave the house) Sometimes I wear the cameo ring DB bought me for my 21st birthday (in which case I don't wear all the others!) And often, a silver necklace and silver bracelet , gifts from DH.

I too love jewelry bought on holiday-have a silver bracelet of linked elephants from India (I love elephants) and a Sikkh 'silver' bangle, a silver pendant (Maori design) from NZ , garnet (50th birthday) earrings from Prague , gold pendant , symbolising long life, from Hong Kong , amber pendant from Russia, seed pearls from Bankgok.

Have a lovely long string of cornelian beads which MIL gave me-I think it was her seal of approval. And a very unusual string of alternate black and white pearls a dear (rich) friend gave me for my 60th. Amethyst earrings DH bought me for my 40th birthday And sundry gold chains, which I don't often wear.

Nearly all my stuff has great personal significance and I like to wear it for that reason . I do have some 'junk' jewelry but have pruned it right down to items I really like.

thiskiwicanfly · 12/02/2015 01:44

I used to wear very little as exH didn't like it. Now every day I wear diamond zirconia stud earrings, watch and Pandora charm bracelet that's embarrassingly full on my left hand, Medic Alert bracelet on the right (though that's not really jewellery). I wear a different necklace most days to go with my outfit - I have a pretty big collection of costume jewellery and beaded necklaces made by a friend.

If I'm not at work I will wear other bracelets on my right - when I'm working they annoy me when using the mouse. Sometimes I wear a ring on my right hand and have a small collection of different styles, but at the moment my hands are too fat.

I'm making up for lost time!

I have very little of any real financial value but almost everything has a sentimental meaning.

oldgnome · 12/02/2015 01:46

I wear a simple, short length, tiny silver heart necklace. I never take it off.

But no rings, even though I'm happily married, and no watch or other jewellery. Though I might wear earrings for special occasion or change necklace

CremeEggThief · 25/02/2015 21:32

Yes. No jewellery for me means earrings, chain and watch. I also wear a bracelet on each wrist and 5 or 6 rings most days. When I was younger, I wore rings on all my fingers, including thumbs. All sterling silver.

Judydreamsofhorses · 25/02/2015 21:45

Three rings, stud earrings and watch as standard, then I have a huge collection of costume jewellery - lots of Tatty Devine, big statement necklaces from high street shops - plus a smaller collection of "good" pieces - mainly Alex Monroe - in silver and rose gold. I wear a necklace every day.

MrsMarigold · 25/02/2015 22:45

I change it every day and wear a variety of things - I like Edwardian jewellery so wear that some days, other days I wear silver modern stuff, other days arabian bling. Basically it reflects my mood.

Mrsteddyruxpin · 25/02/2015 22:48

I always wear pearl stud earrings and my wedding ring

Most days my eternity and engagement ring

Due to my job I don't tend to wear jewellery and don't really get the occasion to wear it otherwise. I have some lovely pieces, some custom made and nice fashion pieces and real pearls (wedding day) and a charm bracelet but they would get lost or worn. Maybe when doc get older.

Mrsteddyruxpin · 25/02/2015 22:49

Never wear a watch

ErrolTheDragon · 25/02/2015 22:54

In summer I usually wear some sort of bracelet and necklace (favorite is a silver hollow ball on a chain, but various others too). Sometimes wear a necklace in winter, depends on the style of top. Usually wear a watch (I've got a nice one and a cheaper really waterproof one for sports, dont think of those as jewellery really) - though since I got a laptop rather than always using a proper keyboard I find I don't want anything on my wrists. I stopped wearing my wedding ring a couple of years ago when it started feeling tight and also digs in a bit if I'm gripping windsurf boom or tiller/sheet when sailing - got to get one's priorities straight! Grin (DH has never worn a ring so I don't see why I should if its a nuisance).
