Clarins Instant Concealer (recommended by Sali Hughes) - anyone tried it?

I'm tempted to try this for under-eye dark circles - just wondering if any other S&B readers have any comments on the product?

I think it is excellent . Quite liquid, you need to apply it rapidly, but a very natural and non-cakey finish. I too was interested following Sali's recommendation , and was glad I bought it. I also use Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer on top of one persistent and noticeable dark age
spot, layering the two products ( hope this makes sense!)

I use shade 01 in the Clarins range, and Vanilla in the Nars range.

Financeprincess · 11/02/2015 13:07

It's fab, and lasts for ages.

Petal02 · 11/02/2015 13:38

I was planning to apply it with a brush, it sounds a bit too runny to apply with your fingers?

I have it. Use it daily under eyes. Not too runny for fingers.

Sunmakesmesmile · 11/02/2015 13:47

I love it, only gripe is too much comes out the tube so it can easily get wasted.

lovelychops · 11/02/2015 13:47

I've tried to buy it twice on Sali's recommendation and twice its been sold out at my local clarins counter. I'm on a waiting list for it, seems very popular!

gonegrey56 · 11/02/2015 13:49

I use my fingers to apply it, that works just fine - no need for a brush

Annarose2014 · 11/02/2015 13:53

I had it applied on the counter and it was good, but only good. It had creased on me later and I didn't look massively fresher or anything.

I do love the Nars Creamy Concealer though. The texture seems to suit me better.

Petal02 · 11/02/2015 13:53

And does everyone think this product would be good for heavy duty "just heading to the mortuary" dark under eye circles?

OP posts:
Annarose2014 · 11/02/2015 14:01

I didn't find that but then nothing fixes my Morticia Addams circles. Except that a pink/peach corrector underneath.

gonegrey56 · 11/02/2015 14:02

So much depends on your skin type I think. Maybe get some applied on bare skin at a Clarins counter and see what you think . I need concealer on uneven skin tone, not under eye shadows so I can't really advise you .

Notonaschoolnight · 11/02/2015 14:07

It's not mega heavy duty but I have the fine wrinkles of a 40 year old and so anything heavy duty sits in wrinkles , looks chalky etc. I like it I squeeze the tiniest of dots on the pad of my ring finger, press it against my other ring finger and what's there does my under eyes, side of nose and chin. I may put a tiny bit more on my under eye when I've done all my make up and think there's not quite enough there

HeyMacWey · 11/02/2015 14:14

How would this compare to the clinique airbrush concealer that Lisa Eldridge recommends?

I'm running out of the clinique one. I have laura mercier secret camouflage for when I'm doing a full face of make up but prefer something lighter when just using a bb cream /light foundation.

Petal02 · 11/02/2015 14:23

I've tried the Clinique Airbrush concealer, and it's actually very good. However I'm always interested in trying recommended concealers, one day I'll find something that completely covers my dark circles ........ in my dreams!

Petal have you seen the trick of apply red lipstick under a good concealer for dark circles?

Petal02 · 11/02/2015 14:32

Yes, I've read about the red lipstick trick, but thought it was recommended for dark skins? I find using a yellow colour corrector very effective (Max Factor Yellow Corrector Stick) for paler skin tones.

Nabootique · 11/02/2015 14:46

Ahhh. I hadn't tried it myself and I didn't know that. Sorry.

gonegrey56 · 11/02/2015 15:13

There is an article in today's Times newspaper quoting the make-up artist Kay Montano recommending Lancome's concealer Teint Miracle Corrector Pen for under-eye circles .
Worth looking at this product perhaps?

Datahub · 11/02/2015 17:02

YES ME!!

i am white but swarthy and i tried it on Sat. I did under one eye and it was still noticeable by bedtime

went back on monday to get it

Datahub · 11/02/2015 17:02

( agree re sold out - was the last no3 tube at my gaff)

Saurus72 · 11/02/2015 19:16

It's absolutely brilliant! Great coverage but not heavy or cakey. I use it on under eye circles, around my nose, and also kind of as a highlighter on my cheeks by the side of my nose. Highly recommended - I used to use the Clinique one in the pen applicator and find the Clarins one much much better.

Datahub · 11/02/2015 22:27

yes - i too am a disciple. I love

tethersend · 11/02/2015 22:31

I've just bought some after running out of Lancome's concealer Teint Miracle Corrector Pen- it's very good, and works as a general concealer, but I think the Lancôme is better for under eye circles.
