Size 14 to 16, trying to lose weight any style idea for whilst I'm losing weight?!

Feeling very unstylish. Total mess actually! I need to lose weight about three stone BlushBlush. None of my clothes fit until I lose weight so I need some outfit ideas in the meantime. I'm 5ft 4, 12 stone. Big boobs, big everything really! At least I'm in proportion! Ahem. Any shop recommendations, outfit tips/ideas? Thanks Smile

What do you need, work clothes, sahm clothes, weekend stuff? Are you smart or more casual? Do you like your legs? I am same height as you and my weight is almost the same, going down slowly but surely. I find I always feel good in a a wrap dress, even though my legs aren't my favourite feature! Smile

Primark jeans are great. They have a bit of stretch and look fab. Cheap too. Whatever style you feel comfortable in. Tbh anything will make you feel great if it actually fits properly. I'd get a couple of pairs, they're pence. A few t shirts from somewhere like H&M and a jumper/cardi or two.

I've also got some hidden gems in matalan recently.

Well done you on the weight loss.

Are you me? Wink I'm also size 14/16, just over 12 stone and am a mess! No idea what to wear, have nothing that fits.

I did get a really nice knee length grey cardigan in Peacocks a couple of days ago, but I'm struggling to find jeans that are big enough on the waist without being baggy on the bum. I don't jeggings - I do one pair, but am not keen, would prefer straight jeans.

What sort of clothes do you need? Peacocks have black work trousers for £9 which would maybe put you on until you need a smaller size.

Just buy some not too expensive clothes that fit you!

Size 14/16 is hardly gargantuan, requiring special retailers to cater for you.
What size are you normally? Are you exercising? Perhaps the problem is feeling unfit as much as feeling so "big"?

aw man, im 2 inches taller than you and a stone lighter and yet im a 14 to 16

get onto the House of Fraser website and put your measurements in. Sales are still on.

I am the same as you and have just reinvented my look. Gone with lovely R&B biker boots and went from there. A bit Chrissie Hind/ Joan Jett meets nice MC gel. Boyfiend cashmere (Brora) with skinny black chords with a bright scarf. I have bought a load of scarves and statement necklaces and add one to every outfit, it makes a real difference and my friends have noticed.

I was fed up of 5 years post babies and wearing Boden, M&S and Hobbs. The weigh hasn't dropped off and it was time to change my look before i became completely invisible.

And a great black kimono jacket from ASOS.

i am very similar size and shape, i am living in leggings and tunic style tops just now - mainly from primark or dorothy perkins

nowitsenough · 08/02/2015 18:12

bitofanoddone, where did you put your measurements in on the House of Fraser site?

bitofanoddone · 08/02/2015 18:38

I'm not sure, settings perhaps. On my phone now and it isn't obvious. Maybe Google?

It has been a godsend and is accurate. You put in measurements and recent fit/ sizes from favourites such as trousers.

nowitsenough · 08/02/2015 19:05

Thanks. I'm on my phone too, but can't find anything. I'll look on my desktop tomorrow.

nowitsenough · 08/02/2015 20:38

I found it under customer services, true fit, I think it was called.

bitofanoddone · 09/02/2015 04:10

That's it. Really useful as I can range from M - L, 14 -16, depending on brand.

Very useful.
