Plaster cast on leg need clothing inspiration and help

I currently have a leg in plaster. I don't have to use crutches to get about but let's just say mobility is still quite restricted. (I am hobbling like a lame duck) The width of the plaster cast has increased the circumference of my leg considerably. I can only wear flat shoe on the non plaster casted foot for reasons of safety. I also suffer with Reynaurds so need to be warm, and post of recovery means I am feeling the cold a little.

I have to be out of the house for various appointments in public so I need something that does not involve yoga pants in the coming weeks. Also I have to go back to work so need some suitable outfits for that.

I cannot wear jeans to the office and I have one pair of boot cut jeans I can probably get over the plaster cast. I have one grey and one black pair of wide leg trousers I can probably get over the cast. Top wise I have a plethora of shirts, cashmere jumpers, scarves.

Would skirts (not full as can't risk a trip hazard) or dresses work at all? If so what footwear? What about leg wear as bared legs will be cold and blue skin is not really nice. MMost of my winter dresses and skirts are just about knee level. I have longer summary ones but are too cold. I can't layer with leggings and so on due to plaster cast. So how can I use these?

I have flat black and brown boots both long and ankle.

This is a 6 week issue! So ideas very gratefully received. MN S&B come and dress me!

When I was in a cast I wore a limited selection of wide leg trousers and wore what was appropriate for the event on the top. Work wise I was in a professional environment and so long as I looked reasonable from the top work cut me a lot of slack.

Bag wise I used a rucksack or cross body bag. I was in a plaster cast and then in an aircast but still very wobbly. So needed to be hands free.

Shoe wise, I invested in a new pair of cheap shoes that could work for everything as a friend ( who had been in a cast) told me that one shoe would wear down heavily meaning that once you can wear both shoes together it feels not right/very uncomfortable. It was actually worth doing as the shoes were unwearable together once I was cast free.

I stayed away from skirts just because it was winter and I feel the cold.

Not sure if I have helped at all but I hope you are cast free soon.

Thanks MrsSnow am in a very similar situation wobble wise and temperature wise. I do however have several cross body bags already.

Very good point re footwear, I think Am going to have to shoe shop.

I have measured the critical part of the plaster cast and it is 11 inches! These need to be seriously WIDE leg trousers. I tried on a pair I have but the lining was the problem , tighter than the actual leg. So the hunt is on for Jersey type material wide straight legged trousers.

I am looking at a minimum of 8 weeks like this, air cast to follow after the plaster monstrosity is removed.

I spent 9 months in 2013 in plaster so feel your pain
Skirts and dresses I cut a pair of leggins off at the knee and tucked the cut part in my cast then wore a flat boot on my other foot.
Wide trousors were good but I found they seemed to short on my cast leg.

spottymoo did you put a hem on the cut leg of the legging? Or do they not unravel?
