Liz Earle - another price hike

I have just finished a bottle of cleanse and polish and its been really good but I notice it has now gone up to £14 for the pump bottle, it has lasted me a good while though, despite the powers that be saying it should last a month. I'm not keen on trying other hot cloth cleansers as the Liz Earle one suits my eczema prone skin, I could just use the C&P and use a cheaper moisturiser but don't know if I am aswell just going back to my basic emollient fragrance free, rinse off or wipe off with cotton wool cleansers or even face wipes as I had two packs of Simple wipes bought for me for Xmas. Is it worth spending on a cleanser or am I better just putting my cash towards good make up?

Have had my pump one for about 2 months and still some left; I use it twice a day- are you using quite a lot per go?

Armpitt · 27/01/2015 22:48

use micellar water

way cheaper

Bunbaker · 27/01/2015 22:49

I am using the Superdrug Naturally Radiant one and it is just as good as LE, but much cheaper (£5.99)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/01/2015 23:01

look on QVC - they do the 200ml tube which is the most economical way to buy it.

2 x 200ml £52+ £4.95 P&P
3 x 100ml pump £41.52 + £4.95 (that's on 3 Easy Pay of 3 x £13.84)
2 x 100ml pump £29.52 + £3.99

Though loads of users think it's changed in recent years, I haven't bought any for ages.

(Superdrugs is okay but not as rich)

NomDePlumeRidesAgain · 27/01/2015 23:03

I'm amazed you find it so good for eczema with all the essential oils in it.

Bodicea · 27/01/2015 23:07

I have sensitive, eczema prone skin. I use no 7 hot cloth cleanser ( get it when they have the £5 off voucher) it suits me just fine.
I don't think you should spend much on stuff you wash off.

Bunbaker · 28/01/2015 07:04

70 Superdrug do a vitamin E cleanser as well. It is richer than the Naturally Radiant one, and is too rich for my skin.

I have sensitive, eczema prone skin and am fine with the Boots one (I also use the vouchers). Also fine things with lots of essential oils, most of my skincare is from Lush. What mine can't take is conventional lotion cleansers such as Simple, make-up wipes or micellar waters, they all leave it red and tingly.

ihatethecold · 28/01/2015 07:33

Use coconut oil. It's loads cheaper and no chemicals in it.

IDontDoIroning · 28/01/2015 07:42

Epaderm is fab and lasts forever

I love the liz Earle c&p, only thing that worked for my skin, but couldn't justify the price any more. (Have v sensitive and temperamental skin, even the limited edition different scent c&p was enough to set my skin off)

Marks and Spencer have recently started doing their own version called "Pure instant radiance hot cloth cleanser", I can't find it on their website for some reason but have picked it up in store for £10 for 200ml, so much better value than the LE. it has a v similar ingredient list, no parabens or nasties, it's not quite such a thick consistency as the LE one but does a very good job at cleansing skin and removing mascara etc.

I'm puzzled as to why I can't find it on their website as there were tonnes of reviews from people saying how great it was, always helpful to hear what others have to say I find.

There is also a toner and a few other bits in the range.

The Superdrug one is even cheaper yet but it does have about four different parabens in it which is something I try to avoid at all costs.

I'm the same, it's by far the best thing I've tried for my horrid skin but I just can't justify the cost any more. Have really noticed the difference since it ran out but an determined to find a cheaper alternative! I tried a cold cream (Boots own I think) which was fine but a bit greasier, with the Liz Earle moisturiser. It was once the moisturiser ran out things really kicked off so am thinking it might be worth paying for the moisturiser but a cheaper cleanser.

Am currently battling the spots that appeared after the Liz Earle ran out with Efficlar Duo - things worse so far so will prob return to liz Earle once the duo runs out.
