A fringe? Yay or nay?

I'm thinking of having a fringe cut in, not had one since I was about 12!

Also have highlights in at the moment and want to go back to dark brown.

I just can't decide! Any words of wisdom? I will try and add a photo if I can figure it out.

I have been thinking about a fringe too, with soft waves. I have long hair and a longish face. I'm a bit afraid that if I get one cut in it will look awful.

I agree you look great in the hat photo . My hairdresser (and most I think if you are a regular) will trim my fringe for free (and shave the back of my neck-greying).I have a fairly 'whispey' not too heavy fringe , not a centre parting. Great as you get forehead lines Definitely makes me look younger

You really suit the hat so a fringe will probably look great. I love fringes and am always debating getting one and have done a few times but my hair is thick and they look like a paintbrush after a week or 2 plus think my face is wrong.

I had a fringe cut in just before Christmas. I like it at the moment, but I know that i may grow it out again at some point.

Go for it. If you get bored, then it just takes a couple few months of clipping it back/to the side until it gets long enough to blend in.

I have a lot of hair, so have found that by having the fringe there is so much less hair to have to dry and keep tidy. Much easier cutting that front section out.

LOL at the noel fielding comment!!! I think get one. When a full fringe grows out you can part it in the middle a la Sienna Miller whilst you grow it. Plus most salons do free fringe trims so no need to attempt it yourself!!

I've been thinking about a fringe but wasn't sure as I wear glasses. Have just googled it and I think a side fringe might be the way to go. Need something instead of botox. Any opinions please.

I think a fringe will really suit you. You have quite a high hairline so a fringe will help to add proportion etc- you also look great without a fringe too!
Are you going to get any framing layers or just a fringe? I also get a fringe that is slightly longer at sides, when you tie up hair it helps to frame face.

I was coming on here to say go for it, and you already have - it looks brilliant! Gorgeous cut. Good choice Smile

That looks fab.

Good choice :)

Good call. That hairdo has taken years off you - not saying you looked old before btw - but you look very youthful now.

Thanks all Smile
