Strange Bra-related Question!

I am a 34FF so really need to wear a bra at all times, but I am having a flare-up of psoriasis and it's all around the bra band-line. By the end of the day it's red-raw and I am in agony. Can anyone recommend a solution so I'm not in so much pain?! Sad

Would a sports bra be any better. The straps are wider so might not rub so much.

or you could bind your boobs as if you're pretending to be a chap

Allinafankle · 27/01/2015 18:56

That's a good idea Middleaged ( the sports bra that is, not the binding Grin ). I thought about wearing a bigger size so it's not as tight against my skin but I don't want to get into the whole what size to try!

What about a strip of fabric (silk - absorbent/non itchy) between skin and bra? Maternity/nursing bra - wide straps, comfy and supportive. Just get fitted for one.

Bigger band might actually hurt more as it will slip around I suspect.

Would a longline help, broader band?

Allinafankle · 27/01/2015 21:26

Ooh StatisicallyChallenged longline bras - there's a thought. Can you get them in big sizes though? Whenever I've seen them in the past they've not gone up to my cup size.

There are a few - Freya and Curvy Kate both do longlines in your size linky, Cleo has a few coming out this season too which I think are going to an H cup (you could try hunting about for the Sadie which was a previous cleo longline).

Is your bra underwired? I'm wondering if that makes a difference. Have had something similar and used Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream to solve the problem short term.

Perhaps try a basque to give that band of skin a break. Bravissimos is very comfortable. There are also long line bras (m+s) but not tried

A body with cups could work too...

Or could you put a sports 'glide' stick on your skin to stop chafing?
