I have realised I am hopeless at looking after myself and always have been so today my DH took me to an orange lady at bobbi brown and got me a makeup lesson and some lovely new makeup. She was great and I feel confident now that I can put some makeup on without looking like a clown. I'm starting to feel like one day I might look ok.

However I have 2 issues that I would really like done help with.

  1. I couldn't afford all the lovely skin care products so do you have any suggestions for a reasonably priced moisturiser for dry and sensitive skin? Also makeup remover and do I need anything else? cleanser etc? And when do I use them?!

  2. my hair is terrible - frizzy when I brush it, short bits where it is growing back after having DD which stick up everywhere and I can only manage a ponytail and a low bun like thing that I learnt from Pinterest! It is just below shoulder length if that makes a difference. Any ideas for products or very simple hair styles?

Sorry it's so long and thanks if you managed to get this far!

Do you actually want to make changes, or were you context with yourself before DH made 'helpful' suggestions?

If my DH took me to a make up counter I would fucking castrate him. Just sayin'.

I decided I wanted to change - I want to actually look nice occasionally. I told him I wanted get some new makeup and get some suggestions from a makeup counter lady weeks ago but honestly I would probably never get around to it (and I would have felt guilty spending the money) DH knows me well so took me and I love him for it Grin

Mum never really wore makeup or did her hair and I never learnt how to do these things from her or anyone else so pretty lost when it comes to S and B. I've tried google etc but end up swamped with loads of stuff and not sure where to start.

I use Aldi skin care range - serum, night and day cream and gave wipes. Single mum and all I can afford. For my skin it's brilliant x

  1. moisturiser Weleda almond soothing factual cream & cleanser/make up remover ...bioderma sensibio H20 micellar available from Amazon, Lloyds pharmacy etc.. Use both in evening & wash face then moisturise in morning...

  2. maybe a nice Argan oil lots of products & prices available like Morrocan Argan oil, dr organic Argan oil etc available from Boots , superdrug , amazon etc..

What about a French bun, a plait or fishtail you can watch demonstrations on you tube?

applecatchers36 · 24/01/2015 23:29

Facial cream not factual cream!
